Born Tijs Michiel Verwest in the small Dutch city of Breda in 1969, Tiësto went on to become more than just a world-famous electronic musician—he largely created the model for a powerhouse DJ in the 21st century. He got his start in the mid-’80s, when the skeletal sounds of Belgian new beat ruled Holland’s clubs, but it was trance—sleeker and more emotive—that moved him. His first proper DJ mix , 1997’s <I>Magik One (First Flight)</I>, showcases his signature style in dreamy synth melodies drawn out above tough but streamlined drum grooves. As trance’s foremost ambassador, he pioneered stadium raving with solo DJ concerts in sports arenas; in 2004, he played for millions at the Summer Olympics opening ceremony in Athens. And his <I>Club Life</i> weekly radio show and mix series, one of trance’s premier global platforms, became synonymous with the genre itself. But you don’t become the world’s No. 1 DJ by sitting still. By 2011’s <I>Club Life: Volume One Las Vegas</I>, Tiësto was following through on a shift that had begun with his 2009 album, <I>Kaleidoscope</I>, a blend of high-energy trance and airy pop melodies that heralded the next big rave revolution: EDM. With 2014’s <I>A Town Called Paradise</I>, he made good on EDM’s anything-goes promise with a collection encompassing soaring toplines, massive drops, and other big-room thrills without turning his back on the aching melodies that made his name. As the decade drew to a close, playful collabs with a new generation of producers who had come up in his wake—The Chainsmokers, Oliver Heldens, DJ Snake, Hardwell—only served to confirm his versatility and cement his legacy.

BIO
Compared to many of his chart-topping EDM peers, DJ Snake keeps a relatively low profile: He doesn’t do many interviews, and he’s rarely photographed without a pair of oversized black sunglasses. Instead, the French-Algerian producer (born William Grigahcine in 1986) lets his music do the talking. With a range that extends from earthshaking trap to lilting tropical house, DJ Snake doesn’t have an obvious stylistic signature; instead, his fingerprints are audible in details like precision-tooled snares, vividly tweaked vocal samples, and an almost three-dimensional approach to sound design. Raised in Paris, the former graffiti artist and hip-hop DJ first broke through by working on Lady Gaga’s “Government Hooker,” but it was his 2013 song “Turn Down for What”—a battering ram of a trap anthem made all the more antic by Lil Jon’s ranted, titular refrain—that kicked open the doors to the world stage. Two years later, teaming up with Major Lazer and MØ, he showed a more sensitive side on “Lean On,” which paired slo-mo house with crystalline finger-snaps and one of the year’s most infectious choruses. Since then, on his 2016 debut album, <I>Encore</I>, and elsewhere, he’s continued to expand the limits of his sound—giving Justin Bieber the world’s most opulent air mattress to fall into on the buoyant “Let Me Love You,” or unspooling slinky, acoustically tinged Afrobeats for Nigerian singer Niniola on “Maradona Riddim.” It’s an ironic title: Diego Maradona is one of the world’s most flamboyant figures in soccer, while DJ Snake, true to his namesake, is as stealthy as they come—you never know where he’s going to strike next.

BIO
A superstar DJ, sought-after producer, taste-making label owner, and wizard behind Major Lazer, Diplo (aka Diplodocus, Wes Diplo, and Wes Gully) launched his career on the fringes of dance music. With his mash-up mixtapes, he found and created a sound where his musical tastes -- '80s pop, electronica, Dirty South hip-hop, and his major influence, Miami bass music -- intersect. His attention-grabbing projects Hollertronix, with partner DJ Low Budget, and the Piracy Funds Terrorism, Vol. 1 mixtape, with British-Sri Lankan MC M.I.A., made a heavy impact on the alternative electro-pop scene, amassing rave reviews from music critics and indie kids alike. Later, his Mad Decent imprint presented the edge of pop, hip-hop, and dance music while his conceptual Major Lazer project mixed dancehall with rave culture and toured the globe as a live-party sound system. By the late 2010s, super duos with Skrillex (Jack Ü) and Mark Ronson (Silk City) both yielded Grammy wins for collaborations with Justin Bieber and Dua Lipa, respectively. Diplo was born Thomas Wesley Pentz in Tupelo, Mississippi. Although he lived in a few different cities in the South, he mainly grew up in South Florida. He spent his youth in his father's bait shop and fixated on manatees, alligators, and dinosaurs with hopes of becoming a paleontologist. However, he wound up pursuing an education in film studies, starting at a couple Florida colleges but finishing up his undergraduate degree in Philadelphia at Temple University in 2003. Before his move to Philadelphia, Pentz had moved temporarily to Japan to escape daily life in America. He sent a demo tape of his beat concoctions to Will Ashon, founder of U.K. independent hip-hop label Big Dada Records, and once signed to the label, he relocated to Philadelphia. To support himself during and after graduating from Temple, Pentz took on a few different jobs in Philadelphia: social worker, after-school mentor, movie theater employee, and gig-by-gig DJ. He was barely able to pay the rent, and the frustration was stunting his musical development (although he does credit one of his musical epiphanies to the after-school students who exposed him to crunk and Baltimore club music). Thus, Diplo and like-minded DJ Low Budget pooled their resources to start up their own club nights in Philadelphia, which they branded Hollertronix. It simply began as a fun night of genre-warping dance music, but blossomed into an underground subculture, drawing out crowds from all over the East Coast. Under the Hollertronix moniker, Diplo and Budget released the highly praised Never Scared mixtape; it was listed as one of the New York Times' top albums of 2003. The following year, Big Dada released Diplo's solo debut album, Florida, a more downtempo piece focusing on melody and instrumentals that was a departure from the melee of mashed-up vocals and beats. His unrelenting work ethic produced a considerable number of acclaimed mix CDs and 12" records; however, none of them accumulated more interest and Internet chatter than the 2004 Piracy Funds Terrorism, Vol. 1 mixtape that introduced M.I.A. outside of his U.K. borders. Developing a yearning to produce more worldly music, he also began to throw his energy behind the Brazilian youth- and street-based music known as funk carioca (also referred to as baile funk), a derivation of Miami bass music. So, it was no surprise that when he established his own label, Mad Decent Records, around 2005; his first signee was the funk carioca group Bondo do Role. In 2009, the label signed a distribution deal with Fontana and Downtown Records. Their first collaborative release was by Major Lazer, a fictional Jamaican bounty hunter that was the brainchild of Diplo and DJ Switch. Major Lazer's debut album, Guns Don't Kill People... Lazers Do, appeared in 2009, the same year as the Diplo remix collection Decent Work for Decent Pay: Selected Works, Vol. 1. In 2010, Mad Decent began their Blow Your Head compilation series with the unmixed collection Blow Your Head: Diplo Presents Dubstep. Mix CDs (the reggae-filled 2011 release Riddimentary), EPs (2012's Express Yourself and 2013's Revolution), a Major Lazer album (2013's Free the Universe), and production work for others (including Alex Care's "Too Close" and Usher's "Climax") took Diplo to 2014 and that year's aptly titled compilation Random White Dude Be Everywhere. Filled with recent tracks, the set found the producer favoring the trap music style, the style heard on Baauer's hit single "Harlem Shake," which itself was a Mad Decent release. In 2015, he co-produced multiple tracks on Madonna's release Rebel Heart, and worked with Skrillex on the album Skrillex and Diplo Present Jack Ü. Both Jack Ü and its hit collaboration with Justin Bieber, "Where Are Ü Now," picked up Grammys. Major Lazer's LP Peace Is the Mission also landed that year, topping the U.S. dance chart and peaking at number 12 on the Billboard 200. In 2017, Diplo recruited Travis Scott, Camila Cabello, Quavo, J Balvin, Sean Paul, Busy Signal, and more for Major Lazer's Know No Better EP. That same year, Diplo issued a handful of singles under his own name, including "Imperfections" and "Swerve" with Starrah, and "Get It Right" featuring MØ. The latter track found its way onto 2018's California EP, which featured additional guests Lil Yachty, Desiigner, Santigold, Lil Xan, and Trippie Redd. That same year, Diplo teamed with fellow producer Mark Ronson to form the duo Silk City. Their hit collaboration with Dua Lipa, "Electricity," helped him score his third Grammy in 2019 for Best Dance Recording. In April 2019, his collaborative effort Labrinth, Sia & Diplo Present LSD arrived, followed in May by his Higher Ground EP featuring guests Tove Lo and Kah-Lo. Also that year, Diplo issued several country-flavored singles under the moniker Thomas Wesley, including "So Long" with Cam, "Heartless" with Morgan Wallen, and "Lonely" with the Jonas Brothers, followed by "Do Si Do" featuring Blanco Brown in April 2020. All of those tracks would appear on his country-inflected album Chapter 1: Snake Oil, which was released in May. ~ Cyril Cordor

With a name that echoes through the halls of music history, Robin Schulz has amassed a staggering array of achievements that have solidified his status as one of the industry's most successful artists. Across the past years, he has garnered over 800 Gold, Platinum, and Diamond awards in 30 countries. Now, two years after the release of his highly acclaimed album "IIII," the Grammy-nominated DJ and producer is ready to unveil his fifth studio album, "PINK." Born and raised in a medium-sized German city with a population somewhere in the 160,000s and an excitement level that can be described as middle-rate at best, Schulz has transcended boundaries and become a global sensation. Traveling the world nonstop to play packed clubs, the world’s biggest festivals or his annual summer residency at Pacha, Ibiza, he captivates audiences with his electrifying performances. Schulz's fairytale-like success story began in 2014 when he first ascended to the top of worldwide singles charts with his acclaimed remix of "Waves (feat. Mr. Probz)" and landed his breakthrough global uber-hit “Prayer in C (feat. Lilly Wood & The Prick)”. “Sugar (feat. Francesco Yates)” followed shortly after in 2015. That song recently made its entry into Spotify’s Billions Club. His immense popularity is further highlighted by over 20 million sales and an astonishing 12 billion streams worldwide.

Few DJs have risen faster than Martin Garrix. In 2013, when he was just 16, the Dutch dance-music fan (born Martijn Garritsen in May 1996) paid for his ticket to Miami’s Ultra Music Festival, along with 330,000 other attendees; the following year, he performed there—and also at Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, and Tomorrowland. The catalyst was his breakout hit, “Animals,” an electro-house anthem that sent shockwaves through EDM, setting the tone for several years’ worth of big-room bangers. (It also got the attention of Justin Bieber manager Scooter Braun, who scooped up the teenaged producer for his roster.) By the time Garrix was 20, <I>DJ Magazine</I> named him the world’s No. 1 DJ. Since then, he has straddled dance cred and pop crossover, collaborating with fellow DJs Dillon Francis, Hardwell, and Tiësto (Garrix's mentor and early champion) as well as Usher, Ed Sheeran, and Dua Lipa. He’s come a long way from the savagery of “Animals”: One of his signature moves, in songs like “In the Name of Love,” with Bebe Rexha, or “Ocean,” with Khalid, is something like the EDM equivalent of the power ballad: taking a silky, sensitive mood and building up the synths and drums until they sound all but indestructible.

Alok uses the term "Brazilian Bass" to describe his sunny, feel-good mixture of restrained tech-house and festival-friendly EDM. Born Alok Achkar Peres Petrillo, he is the son of DJ Ekanta and DJ Swarup, two of the most well-known psytrance DJs in Brazil. Alok first began producing psytrance with his twin brother, Bhaskar, releasing material under the name Logica. He started releasing solo tracks in 2012, venturing into house rather than trance. Keeping up his productivity, particularly with a series of Brazilian Bass events, Alok was receiving recognition as the country's best house DJ by 2014. He appeared in DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs poll for the first time in 2015. Alok had an even bigger year in 2016, as his Spinnin' Records-released single "Hear Me Now" (co-produced by Bruno Martini and featuring vocalist Zeeba) was a huge international hit. Its video was a viral success on YouTube, and it charted in over a dozen countries. Several singles and collaborations were released in 2017, including "Never Let Me Go" (the follow-up single to "Hear Me Now"), which again featured Bruno Martini and Zeeba. Another Zeeba-assisted track, "Ocean," appeared in 2018, as did collaborations with Gavin James ("Innocent") and Zelva ("I Miss U"), among other singles. ~ Paul Simpson

BIO
A progressive trance DJ and producer whose cinematic sound is influenced by synth pioneers like Klaus Schulze and Jean Michel Jarre, Armin van Buuren enjoys worldwide recognition and a frantic schedule that takes him all over the globe. Born on December 25, 1976 in Leiden, Holland, Armin became interested in music at an early age (his father was an avid record buyer). A close friend introduced him to the world of dance music, and the Dutch DJ and remixer Ben Liebrand quickly became his main inspiration. It led van Buuren to investigate the roots of the electronic music he was becoming fond of, and numerous Jarre and Schulze CDs were acquired. Computers and turntables were also purchased, and creating his own music became a priority. In 1995, van Buuren attended Leiden University, and a local student club provided the venue for his first DJ gigs. The same year he was fortunate enough to have some demos included on compilations, and when the money came in, it was rolled back into producing 12"s. Cyber Records released his first hit, "Blue Fear," in 1995, and by 1999 his "Communication" was successful enough to get him signed to AM:PM. He also formed his own label, Armind, in 1999 and met Dave Lewis, a man responsible for jump-starting the careers of DJ Tiësto and Ferry Corsten. A collaboration with Tiësto yielded his biggest hit yet on Armind, "Eternity," and marathon five-hour sets brought him more attention. High-profile remixes of Madison Avenue's "Don't Call Me Baby" and Wamdue Project's "King of My Castle" followed, and numerous mix CDs were released on United Recordings. By 2002 he'd placed number five in DJ Magazine's Top 100 and was hosting his own weekly show on the Dutch ID&T radio station. By the end of 2003 he found time to set the worldwide record for longest DJ set (12 and a half hours at a club in The Hague), finish his law degree, and release his first non-mix CD, 76. Shivers followed in 2005, with Imagine arriving in 2008. His 2010 effort, Mirage, featured singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor along with fellow producers BT and Ferry Corsten. Van Buuren returned in 2013 -- after numerous mix albums, including his annual additions to the A State of Trance series -- with his fifth studio album, Intense. The album was expanded in 2015 as Intense: The Most Intense Edition, a set that turned the original LP into a four-CD/one-DVD box featuring remixes and recordings of live gigs. His collaboration with Cosmic Gate, "Embargo," landed that same year. The track would appear on Van Buuren's sixth studio album, the Dutch chart-topping Embrace, which also featured Gavin DeGraw, Hardwell, and Mr. Probz. Over the course of the following years, he continued his yearly State of Trance series, climbing to his 14th installment, State of Trance 2017. ~ David Jeffries

They made history headlining Madison Square Garden in 2011 and headlining Coachella with The Weeknd in 2022, even partnering with Ikea to extend their unique aesthetic to a broader audience. Rolling Stone hailed them as "redefining rave culture," while NME dubbed them "the rockstars of dance music." Following a record-breaking One Last Tour and a five-year hiatus, they returned as surprise Ultra Music Festival headliners in 2018. After the Save The World Reunion Tour, they finally fulfilled their musical destiny with the 2022 debut album "Paradise Again" on Republic Records. The album topped charts worldwide and featured a hit collaboration with The Weeknd on "A Moth To A Flame." Which now has garnered more than 800 millions streams across platforms. Hailed by the scene as a trendsetter with an ever-exciting story of success, ACRAZE is only just beginning his role as dance music’s trailblazer. At 26 years old, ACRAZE’s success didn’t come overnight. Years of grinding the DJ circuit across the country gave him the opportunity to develop his signature sound and collaborate with fellow rising stars. In the midst of his budding music career, ACRAZE forged his path to dance world fame when inspiration struck one morning. After he stumbled upon a video featuring Cherish’s 2006 R&B hit “Do It To It,” ACRAZE swiftly produced a rough house edit of the original tune, and a smash hit was born. Since “Do It To It” dropped in August 2021 via Thrive Music, the single has racked up over 12 billion global streams and has become a staple in any DJ’s collection — "Do It To It" was even crowned iHeartRadio’s 2021 Dance Song of the Year. Following the explosive success of his new music, ACRAZE began his debut Las Vegas residency in early 2022 at Hakkasan Nightclub. That same year, ACRAZE took the main stage at EDC Las Vegas accompanied by Cherish for a special live performance of “Do It To It.” Now taking his show around the globe on his world tour, ACRAZE represents what it truly means to dominate the scene.

Making the world smaller by making the party bigger: this is Major Lazer's mission. Since its debut in 2009, the trio led by Diplo has consistently affirmed its desire to celebrate cultures, to uplift artists and genres from around the world and to create a new kind of electronic music. The breadth of international artists that we find across Major Lazer’s albums—from Guns Don't Kill People...Lazers Do, to their latest Music Is The Weapon—illustrates this ethos. This desire to free oneself from codes, to break down barriers, is at the heart of Music is the Weapon. Released in October 2020 this new LP is carried by a list of prestigious names, with universes that could not be more varied. Among them: reggaeton superstar J. Balvin, American rap queen Nicki Minaj, in addition to French Montana, Skip Marley, Khalid, Mr Eazi, Nucleya, Paloma Mami, Anitta, and Shenseea , the new star of Jamaican dancehall and many more.. By drawing together the international influences of reggaeton and afrobeats, Music is the Weapon is a record in tune with its time, whose frenetic rhythms marry genres with ever more power; dance music to dancehall, pop to dembow, soca to hip-hop. It is an album that projects us to the four corners of the globe, and whose title takes on an almost political meaning: at the end of a year marked by isolation and the restriction of our freedoms, music seems to be a considerable weapon, more capable than ever of bringing us together across borders.

James Hype is arguably one of the UKs most important artists with his productions consistently forming the cornerstone of dance floors around the world, alongside his singles clocking hundreds of millions of streams, being accredited sales awards in the UK, and across Europe approaching half a billion cumulative streams worldwide. However, even these incredible accolades are shadowed by his world leading, unmatched ability as a DJ, standing alone at the spearhead of 21st century live mixing. Following his signing with The Cross Records/ Island Records UK, leading with his single ‘Afraid’ featuring HARLEE, and his follow up ‘Good Luck’ featuring Pia Mia, James Hype continues to secure daytime play listing, tens of millions of streams, and has further established himself in the US. James has also returned to his roots on the dancefloors, with a string of Beatport top 10 club releases including a collaboration with Vintage Culture and a number 1 chart single with Tita Lau. With his latest release ‘Ferrari’, currently occupying international chart positions and pegged to be a major global hit, James Hype firmly justifies his position at the pinnacle of festivals in 2022 with performances coming at Tomorrowland, EDC and Lollapalooza. Belgian producer Lost Frequencies has achieved massive international success with his sunny yet wistful dance tracks, remixes, and collaborations. Beginning with his 2014 breakout hit "Are You with Me," a tropical house track based on a country song by <a href="spotify:artist:070kGpqtESdDsLb3gdMIyx">Easton Corbin</a>, he topped the charts in his home country five times, and released more than a dozen tracks that have been certified gold, platinum, or diamond. The song appeared on his 2016 full-length Less Is More, along with other major hits like "Reality" (featuring <a href="spotify:artist:5gtYjyZlmPOc1lLHvYzCON">Janieck Devy</a>) and a cover of <a href="spotify:artist:0Suv0tRrNrUlRzAy8aXjma">Haddaway</a>'s "What Is Love." 2019's Alive and Feeling Fine included further smashes like "Crazy" (with <a href="spotify:artist:0bMKf3lIYR9GaNTdFKkTOr">Zonderling</a>) and "Melody" (featuring <a href="spotify:artist:7KMqksf0UMdyA0UCf4R3ux">James Blunt</a>). After releasing the EP Cup of Beats in 2020, Lost Frequencies scored further hits with 2021's "Rise" and "Where Are You Now" (with <a href="spotify:artist:6ydoSd3N2mwgwBHtF6K7eX">Calum Scott</a>), 2022's "Questions" (with <a href="spotify:artist:4IWBUUAFIplrNtaOHcJPRM">James Arthur</a>), and 2023's country-infused "The Feeling." Felix de Laet began creating homemade remixes as soon as he got his first laptop, and started using the moniker Lost Frequencies in 2014. His original productions ranged from jazzy deep house to downtempo and trap beats. Lost Frequencies signed to <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Armada+Music%22">Armada Music</a>, the Dutch trance label co-founded by <a href="spotify:artist:0SfsnGyD8FpIN4U4WCkBZ5">Armin van Buuren</a>, and his first release was "Are You with Me," a dance-pop song built around a sample from the identically titled song by American country singer <a href="spotify:artist:070kGpqtESdDsLb3gdMIyx">Easton Corbin</a>. The track was an immediate hit, spending several months on dance charts throughout Europe. Lost Frequencies remixed singles by <a href="spotify:artist:0SfsnGyD8FpIN4U4WCkBZ5">Armin van Buuren</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2HkAI0YrEcgoR8QdaURqhO">Dimitri Vegas</a> & Like Mike, and released his second single, "Reality," in 2015. Featuring Dutch singer/songwriter <a href="spotify:artist:5gtYjyZlmPOc1lLHvYzCON">Janieck Devy</a>, the song was another huge hit, topping charts in several countries. Lost Frequencies issued his debut full-length, Less Is More, the following year. The album featured his previously released hits as well as "Beautiful Life" (featuring <a href="spotify:artist:5JYo7gm2dkyLLlWHjxS7Dy">Sandro Cavazza</a>) and "All or Nothing" with <a href="spotify:artist:2sRQFLs62KkM8UTW3DjDFM">Axel Ehnström</a>. Other guests included <a href="spotify:artist:0eBOZ74PcpQb3SisNPgaRQ">Jake Reese</a>, Nick Schilder, and Joakim Wilow. A deluxe version arrived in 2017, adding additional track "Here with You" with <a href="spotify:artist:5TgQ66WuWkoQ2xYxaSTnVP">Netsky</a>. A steady stream of singles carried de Laet into 2019, including "Crazy" with <a href="spotify:artist:0bMKf3lIYR9GaNTdFKkTOr">Zonderling</a> (the producer's fifth Belgian chart-topper), "Melody" with <a href="spotify:artist:7KMqksf0UMdyA0UCf4R3ux">James Blunt</a>, and "Recognise" with <a href="spotify:artist:0Bz1CWrQwczPyhBTnvlvoi">Flynn</a>. All three tracks later appeared on his second full-length, Alive and Feeling Fine, which was released in October of that year. The EP Cup of Beats appeared on de Laet's <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Found+Frequencies%22">Found Frequencies</a> imprint in 2020. It featured the hits "Love to Go" (with <a href="spotify:artist:0bMKf3lIYR9GaNTdFKkTOr">Zonderling</a> and Kelvin Jones) and "Don't Leave Me Now" (with <a href="spotify:artist:4W6fwRbqEy1dfEoE6OCyZu">Mathieu Koss</a>) as well as "One More Night," featuring <a href="spotify:artist:070kGpqtESdDsLb3gdMIyx">Easton Corbin</a>. In 2021, Lost Frequencies released "Rise," which hit the Belgian Top Ten. He then collaborated with British singer/songwriter <a href="spotify:artist:6ydoSd3N2mwgwBHtF6K7eX">Calum Scott</a> on the song "Where Are You Now," which became a major worldwide hit, charting in over two-dozen countries. "Questions," a collaboration with <a href="spotify:artist:4IWBUUAFIplrNtaOHcJPRM">James Arthur</a>, followed in 2022. The country-meets-electronica single "The Feeling" arrived in June 2023. ~ Paul Simpson, Rovi

Chicago, Detroit, London, Berlin—all hallowed centres of dance music. Nick van de Wall, on the other hand, hails from tiny Spijkenisse, outside Rotterdam, and his rise is a reminder of the Netherlands’ outsized influence on electronic music. De Wall, better known as Afrojack, began DJing in his teens, and by 2007, when he was just 20, he was putting out mischievous, muscular house bangers in the style called “dirty Dutch.” Early singles like “In Your Face” were full of buzzing synths and bore an unmistakable Caribbean influence in the dembow-flavoured drums. (De Wall has familial roots in Suriname, a former Dutch colony in northeast South America.) Afrojack made his global breakthrough in 2010, just as bigger riffs and brighter melodies were reshaping EDM the world over, with “Take Over Control”, an anthem pairing slippery synth squeals with Eva Simons’ sweeter, R&B-influenced melody. A proper earworm, it tunneled its way straight to the heart of pop music. Afrojack brought the same slinky sense of fun to Pitbull’s No. 1 single “Give Me Everything”, which he cowrote and produced, and David Guetta’s “Hey Mama”, featuring Nicki Minaj and Bebe Rexha; his guestbook of A-list collaborators also includes Madonna, Chris Brown and Beyoncé. At the same time, Afrojack’s work with Martin Garrix and Steve Aoki reinforced his dedication to peak-time raving at its most gleefully straightforward: just pounding kick drums, a giddy, drunken synth riff and that unmistakable swing in his snares.

Kazakh DJ and producer Imanbek's futuristic dance-pop tracks are bright and hook-filled while exploring dark lyrical themes. The artist shot to attention with his 2019 remix of <a href="spotify:artist:0H39MdGGX6dbnnQPt6NQkZ">SAINt JHN</a>'s "Roses," which became an enormous viral hit and was certified platinum in over a dozen countries. Since then, the producer has released additional collaborations with several artists including <a href="spotify:artist:23zg3TcAtWQy7J6upgbUnj">Usher</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:64KEffDW9EtZ1y2vBYgq8T">Marshmello</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2jku7tDXc6XoB6MO2hFuqg">Tory Lanez</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:5CCwRZC6euC8Odo6y9X8jr">Rita Ora</a> (2021's Bang EP). Imanbek Zeikenov was born in Aksu, Kazakhstan in 2000, and started playing guitar when he was eight. He began producing electronic dance music in 2017, and was all but unknown before he remixed Guyanese-American rapper <a href="spotify:artist:0H39MdGGX6dbnnQPt6NQkZ">SAINt JHN</a>'s 2016 single "Roses." Officially released three years after the original version of the song, Imanbek's club-friendly remix exploded in popularity, partially due to exposure through TikTok, where it received over four billion plays during a single month (April 2020). The track topped the charts in several countries, including Australia, Canada, and the U.K., and reached number four on the Billboard 200, eventually earning a Grammy nomination for Best Remixed Recording. A second remix of the track appeared, featuring a guest verse by <a href="spotify:artist:1vyhD5VmyZ7KMfW5gqLgo5">J Balvin</a>. Imanbek continued releasing material at a prolific rate throughout 2020, including the solo single "Dope" (on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Spinnin%27+Records%22">Spinnin' Records</a> imprint Dharma Worldwide) and collaborations with <a href="spotify:artist:2jku7tDXc6XoB6MO2hFuqg">Tory Lanez</a> ("Blackout"), <a href="spotify:artist:4D75GcNG95ebPtNvoNVXhz">Afrojack</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:71WExccCBN2mw0klSzfYzz">Gia Koka</a> ("Hey Baby"), and <a href="spotify:artist:64KEffDW9EtZ1y2vBYgq8T">Marshmello</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:23zg3TcAtWQy7J6upgbUnj">Usher</a> ("Too Much"), among many others. BIO
Known for a pop-oriented synthesis of numerous styles, including house, garage, dubstep, and bass, along with well-timed vocal collaborations, Disclosure are one of dance music's most successful production teams. Although they broke through while the path to commercial success was shortening for acts classified as EDM (electronic dance music), the duo, consisting of English siblings Guy and Howard Lawrence, distinguished themselves with a deeper awareness of underground dance music dating back to the disco era. After debuting in 2010, the pair quickly accelerated to making lustrous, impeccably assembled pop songs, led by the global 2012 hit "Latch," featuring the then-obscure <a href="spotify:artist:2wY79sveU1sp5g7SokKOiI">Sam Smith</a>. The approach continued with the chart-topping, Grammy-nominated albums Settle and Caracal, issued respectively in 2013 and 2015, which added the likes of <a href="spotify:artist:2VAnyOxzJuSAj7XIuEOT38">AlunaGeorge</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:14L5rpGTLVUz1pD8fUeJB1">Eliza Doolittle</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1XkoF8ryArs86LZvFOkbyr">Mary J. Blige</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:1Xyo4u8uXC1ZmMpatF05PJ">the Weeknd</a> to their circle. They returned in 2018 with a series of singles and in 2020 offered their third album, the similarly guest-heavy Energy. Their first commercially issued mix, an entry into the DJ-Kicks series, appeared in 2021, and they continued their return to purely club-driven music with their first independently issued album, 2023's Alchemy, and singles such as 2024's "Arachnids." Children of musicians, siblings Guy and Howard Lawrence absorbed music throughout their upbringing in the town of Reigate in Surrey, England. They learned to play multiple instruments as kids and studied music at Reigate College, all the while immersing themselves in hip-hop and house, as well as dubstep and bass, the latest developments in the U.K. hardcore continuum. Already acquainted with soul, funk, and disco from their household environment, the siblings traced current underground club music back to '80s Chicago house and Detroit techno, connected those developments to '90s U.K. garage, and applied their numerous inspirations to a modern hybrid sound that grew increasingly distinctive. Early material uploaded to MySpace in 2010 led to interest from the Moshi Moshi label, which released the scruffy dubstep-oriented tracks "Offline Dexterity" and "Street Light Chronicle" as a single later that year. The Lawrences continued to find their footing through mid-2012, a period during which they released singles and EPs for <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Transparent%22">Transparent</a>, <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Make+Mine%22">Make Mine</a>, and <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Greco-Roman%22">Greco-Roman</a>. The last of those independent outlets issued The Face EP, the first Disclosure release to feature vocalists instead of processed vocal samples. Bolstered by a U.K. deal with the <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Universal%22">Universal</a>-distributed <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22PMR%22">PMR</a> label, Disclosure made a commercial breakthrough with "Latch," an atmospheric and loping ballad featuring co-songwriting from <a href="spotify:artist:0lwmhJGJcTgbcY4bnXGDgj">Jimmy Napes</a> and a bursting lead vocal from <a href="spotify:artist:2wY79sveU1sp5g7SokKOiI">Sam Smith</a>. More pop-oriented than Disclosure's previous output, the song sent the Lawrences and the previously obscure <a href="spotify:artist:2wY79sveU1sp5g7SokKOiI">Smith</a> into the mainstream. Released in October 2012, it peaked at number 11 during a 55-week stay on the U.K. chart. By the time parent album Settle was out the following May, the duo scored additional hits with the <a href="spotify:artist:2VAnyOxzJuSAj7XIuEOT38">AlunaGeorge</a> collaboration "White Noise," which went to number two, and the <a href="spotify:artist:14L5rpGTLVUz1pD8fUeJB1">Eliza Doolittle</a> showcase "You & Me," which peaked at number six. In the U.S., where the duo secured another <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Universal%22">Universal</a> distribution deal via <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Cherrytree%22">Cherrytree</a> and <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Interscope%22">Interscope</a>, "Latch" became a sleeper hit. It first entered the Hot 100 in April 2014, reached number seven during a chart run of 19 weeks, and eventually went multi-platinum. Settle topped the U.K. album chart and the U.S. electronic chart. It was nominated for the U.K. Mercury Prize and in the U.S. was nominated for a 2014 Grammy Award in the category of Best Dance/Electronic Album. The Lawrences' stateside stock continued to rise. They produced a pair of tracks on <a href="spotify:artist:1XkoF8ryArs86LZvFOkbyr">Mary J. Blige</a>'s The London Sessions, released in late 2014. Only a couple weeks later, they received their second Grammy nomination, this time in the category of Best Dance Recording, for a <a href="spotify:artist:1XkoF8ryArs86LZvFOkbyr">Blige</a>-fronted version of "F for You" that appeared on a deluxe edition of Settle. All this success, plus a world tour, led to increased collaborative star power for the second Disclosure album. Released in September 2015 on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22PMR%22">PMR</a> in the U.K. and <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Capitol%22">Capitol</a> in the U.S., Caracal featured guest lead vocals from <a href="spotify:artist:06nevPmNVfWUXyZkccahL8">Gregory Porter</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2wY79sveU1sp5g7SokKOiI">Sam Smith</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:163tK9Wjr9P9DmM0AVK7lm">Lorde</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:1Xyo4u8uXC1ZmMpatF05PJ">the Weeknd</a> on its singles, and affirmed the duo's affinity for R&B with strong cuts fronted by <a href="spotify:artist:0r0KdmVS1Er3kaFnl1KPog">Kwabs</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:360IAlyVv4PCEVjgyMZrxK">Miguel</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:7aFTOGFDEqDtJUCziLVsVC">Nao</a>. Like the debut, Caracal topped the U.K. pop and U.S. electronic charts. Additionally, it debuted in the Top Ten of the Billboard 200 and was up that year for the Best Dance/Electronica Album Grammy. Following Moog for Love, a three-track EP highlighted by "Feel Like I Do" with <a href="spotify:artist:3dkbV4qihUeMsqN4vBGg93">Al Green</a>, the Lawrences took a break. They returned in 2018 with a slew of singles starting with "Ultimatum," a sparkling collaboration with <a href="spotify:artist:4G5ZJny3HvX6Il7eHVfnNC">Fatoumata Diawara</a> that led to the brothers' fourth Grammy nomination. The following year saw the duo hit the Top Ten in the U.K. and U.S. as producers of <a href="spotify:artist:6LuN9FCkKOj5PcnpouEgny">Khalid</a>'s "Talk," which led to yet another Grammy nomination, this time for Record of the Year, one of the "big four" categories. <a href="spotify:artist:6LuN9FCkKOj5PcnpouEgny">Khalid</a> was then the featured artist on "Know Your Worth," Disclosure's first single of 2020. A collaboration with <a href="spotify:artist:3Gm5F95VdRxW3mqCn8RPBJ">Aminé</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3r1XkJ7vCs8kHBSzGvPLdP">Slowthai</a> ("My High") and another one with <a href="spotify:artist:4G5ZJny3HvX6Il7eHVfnNC">Diawara</a> ("Douha [Mali Mal]") increased anticipation for the August release of Disclosure's third proper album, Energy, which appeared on multiple Billboard charts. Having fulfilled their major-label contract, the duo issued the five-track EP Never Enough independently in 2021. They also mixed the 75th volume of <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22%21K7%22">!K7</a>'s long-running DJ-Kicks series, focusing on deep, shimmering house and ending the set with an atmospheric jungle track. They established a label called <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Apollo+Records%22">Apollo Records</a> and released singles with <a href="spotify:artist:2qxJFvFYMEDqd7ui6kSAcq">Zedd</a> ("You've Got to Let Go If You Want to Be Free") and <a href="spotify:artist:5KKpBU5eC2tJDzf0wmlRp2">RAYE</a> ("Waterfall") in 2022. Alchemy, a full-length with no featured guests or samples, appeared in 2023, shifting the focus from dance-pop to funky house and garage, with one drum'n'bass track ("Higher Than Ever Before," co-produced by Cirkut). This track received a nomination in the category of Best Dance/Electronic Recording for the 2024 Grammy Awards. Following Alchemy (The Remixes), the duo's first original material of 2024 was the celebratory disco-house single "She's Gone, Dance On," which charted in the U.K. This was followed by the <a href="spotify:artist:5Igpc9iLZ3YGtKeYfSrrOE">Chris Lake</a> collaboration "in2minds" and the darker, more mystical "Arachnids." ~ Andy Kellman

BIO
Dutch electronic dance producer Oliver Heldens is regarded as one of the primary figures of the future house scene of the 2010s. While he incorporates elements of numerous styles of dance music, including techno and breakbeat house, his most well-known tracks, including the 2014 U.K. chart-topper "Gecko (Overdrive)," combine deep house with big room and progressive house. His tracks produced under his own name tend to be melodic while maintaining a funky edge. Since 2015, he has additionally released darker, heavier club tracks under the name HI-LO. Heldens began his career with a handful of singles on the CR2 label in early 2013. This was a pivotal year for Heldens, and saw him remix Martin Garrix's smash hit "Animals" as well as release two singles for Spinnin' Records ("Stinger" and "Thumper"). Later that year, he teamed up with Oxygen Records and released "Onya" featuring Alvar and Millas. In the meantime, "Gecko" was picked up by major DJs and producers including Pete Tong, who named the track his "Essential New Tune" in January 2014. It also led to Tiësto releasing the track on his Musical Freedom label. Heldens remixed Robin Thicke's "Feel Good" and made headline appearances at several of Europe's top EDM festivals that summer, including Tomorrowland and Creamfields. A vocal version of "Gecko" titled "Gecko (Overdrive)," featuring The Voice U.K. contestant Becky Hill, was released in June of 2014 and hit number one on the U.K. singles charts. At the end of the year, Heldens had another Top Five hit in the U.K. with "Last Night (Koala)" featuring KStewart. Heldens ranked at number 34 on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs of 2014 survey, and following his Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1, Tong named Heldens "one of the breakthrough producers of the year." In 2015, Heldens launched his Heldeep Records label with the single "Renegade Mastah" by HI-LO, which was later revealed to be a new Heldens project. Under his own name, he continued to release solo singles such as "Melody" and "Bunnydance," as well as collaborations with Da Hool, Zeds Dead, and Tiësto (including the 2016 U.K. Top 40 hit "The Right Song"). He also remixed songs by the Chainsmokers, Katy Perry, Calvin Harris, and others. In 2017, he released the single "What the Funk" (featuring Danny Shah); Steve Aoki released his remix of the track on his Dim Mak label. The following year, Heldens remixed Sofi Tukker's "Best Friend," which featured Nervo, the Knocks, and Alisa Ueno. He also teamed up with Sidney Samson for the single "Riverside 2099." Early 2019 saw the release of the single "Summer Lover" (feat. Devin & Nile Rodgers). ~ Aneet Nijjar

A superstar Dutch DJ who helped shape the EDM explosion of 2012-2013, Robbert van de Corput became Hardwell when he began DJ'ing at the age of 13. Watching the massive dance parties broadcast on MTV encouraged the teen to learn how to mix, and he soon became interested in remixing and working on his own productions. His remixing debut came in 2006 when his version of the Underdog Project's "Summer Jam" hit the clubs, then 2007 found him remixing the stadium techno act Scooter ("Lass Uns Tanzen") and collaborating with fellow DJ Greatski on the track "Never Knew Love." Two years later his bootleg mash-up "Show Me Be" would pit Steve Angello against Laidback Luke for a dancefloor hit, while 2010 saw him drop the first volume of his mix series Revealed. In 2011 he collaborated with Tiësto on the single "Zero 76," which, when combined with remix work for Dada Life ("Fight Club Is Closed [It's Time for Rock'n'Roll]"), Avicii ("Levels"), and Taio Cruz ("Hangover"), added up to his breakout year. In 2012 he would crack the Top Ten of DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ list and top Billboard's dance chart with remixes of Rihanna ("Where Have You Been") and the Wanted ("Chasing the Sun"). His single "Three Triangles (Losing My Religion)" arrived in 2013 along with a fourth volume of Revealed. His full-length debut album United We Are was released in early 2015, with an album of remix versions by DallasK, Vicetone, Bingo Players, and Pep & Rash, amongst others, following later in the same year. The seventh installment of the Revealed series was issued in 2016. That same year, collaborations with Blasterjaxx, Jay Sean, Afrojack, and Craig David appeared, as well as remixes for the Chainsmokers and Jewelz & Sparks. In 2017, he released the single "Creatures of the Night" with pop singer Austin Mahone as well as the eighth installment of Revealed. 2018 saw a deluge of material including the EP Hardwell & Friends, Vol. 3, collaborations with Steve Aoki, Maddix, and Wildstylez, and the full-length Revealed, Vol. 9. ~ David Jeffries

Kosovo-born Albanian multiplatinum artist, DJ, and producer REGARD has sent shockwaves through electronic dance music worldwide with billions of streams, chart-topping hits, A-list collaborations, U.S. television appearances, and stunning festival spots. As a teen, he initially shared D.I.Y. remixes on YouTube and Soundcloud out of his childhood bedroom. By 2017, he parlayed early traction into his first international success, linking up with Drop G for an official remix of “I Can’t Be” by Hakkan Akkus. It kickstarted REGARD’s stratospheric rise. In 2019, he reinvented, recharged, and remixed Jay Sean’s “RIDE IT,” gathering a staggering 1.3 billion Spotify streams and scoring a platinum certification from the RIAA. He maintained this momentum when he joined forces with RAYE for the 2020 international anthem “SECRETS.” Global powerhouse Dua Lipa recruited him for a remix of “Don’t Start Now.” He teamed up with Troye Sivan and Tate McRae on the platinum-certified “You,” vaulting to #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Chart. The trio notably delivered an electrifying performance of the collaborative single on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as well. NME hailed the latter as “a sultry rendition.” He has garnered nominations at the BRIT Awards, Billboard Music Awards, and iHeartRadio Music Awards. Through his inimitable alchemy of deep house, club, R&B, and pop, he has asserted himself as both an enigmatic force of nature and a creator without comparison.

At a young age, Kungs learned DJ has only one goal: to make people dance. Each of his projects will now be designed according to this philosophy. His first single, "This Girl" (2016), is the perfect illustration. Number 1 in dozens of countries, 14 times diamond record, seventh most Shazamed track in history... From the beginning, Kungs took on an international dimension. His first album, LAYERS, followed suit. In the years that followed, the DJ made hundreds of thousands of people dance at the world's biggest festivals, while stacking demos for his second project. In May 2021, the single "Never Going Home" offered a first glimpse of the new direction Kungs is taking. The official anthem of post-lockdown, the song confirmed Kungs' international stature: it exploded the charts in a dozen countries and earned three certifications (Diamond in France, Double Platinum in Italy, Platinum in Poland). Spring 2022. Kungs finally presents his second album, the result of a year and a half of work. CLUB AZUR is a love letter to clubbing and the soundtrack of a dreamy evening. "The only condition for entering CLUB AZUR? To be open to difference." In spring 2023, KUNGS returns with a surprise collaboration following the success of the album "Club Azur" last year. This time, he teams up with Purple Disco Machine to present their new disco-inspired track with 80s influences.

Dutch progressive house duo Tinlicker have released their free-spirited, occasionally wistful tracks on scene-leading labels like Mau5trap and Anjunabeats. Fusing state-of-the-art sound design with emotive songcraft, the pair made an impact with club hits like "Because You Move Me" (2017) and "Nothing Without You" (2018) before releasing their first full-length for Anjunabeats, This Is Not Our Universe, in 2019. Prior to forming Tinlicker in 2012, Jordi Van Achthoven and Micha Heyboer had both been making dance music for over a decade. Van Achthoven released progressive and hard house as JVA and as part of projects like Essential Groovers and Sidesteppers, while Heyboer was a member of well-regarded drum'n'bass trio Black Sun Empire, as well as their trance offshoots Empirical Labs and Charger. The two Utrecht-based producers started releasing Tinlicker tracks on their own Zero Three Zero imprint, beginning with their fittingly titled 2012 EP It's My First Time Here. Lengthy digital album Remember the Future appeared in 2013, and the duo released three EPs on Feed Me's Sotto Voce label, beginning with 2014's Like No Other. Following a handful of singles and an EP of Remember the Future remixes in 2016, Tinlicker reached a wider audience in 2017, when Jalapeño was released by Deadmau5's Mau5trap Recordings, and "Soon You'll Be Gone" (sung by frequent collaborator Thomas Oliver) appeared on Above & Beyond's Anjunadeep imprint. Additionally, "Because You Move Me" (with Helsloot) was issued by Armada Electronic Elements the same year. The duo continued releasing singles on all three labels in 2018, including "Nothing Without You" (another track featuring Oliver) and "If I Was" (with CUT_). Full-length This Is Not Our Universe came out on Anjunabeats in 2019, including collaborations with Oliver, Helsloot, and Run Rivers, as well as the duo's remix of Alt-J's "Breezeblocks." ~ Paul Simpson

BIO
Grammy-nominated electronic producer Kaskade emerged as one of the most successful American progressive house DJs of the 2000s, pioneering the concept of Las Vegas residencies and selling out arenas across America. With his bright, uplifting dance anthems, he was a steady presence on the U.S. dance charts into the 2010s with Top Ten releases that included chart-toppers Fire & Ice (2011) and Atmosphere (2013). One year later, I Remember (2014) compiled the best of his <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Ultra%22">Ultra</a> years, after which he renewed his contract with the label and released Automatic (2015). During the late 2010s, Raddon began rounding up his singles work into a series of releases titled Redux. Fire & Ice v3 arrived in 2022, the same year Kaskade debuted his project with <a href="spotify:artist:2CIMQHirSU0MQqyYHq0eOx">Deadmau5</a> titled <a href="spotify:artist:2avRYQUWQpIkzJOEkf0MdY">Kx5</a>. Born Ryan Gary Raddon in Chicago, he spent his early days not only as a DJ, but as an A&R director and record store owner. In the late '90s, he familiarized himself with the rapidly changing electronic music scene, eventually finding that house music was the subgenre he loved best. He DJ'ed in both New York and Salt Lake City, where he would first produce tracks released on his own tiny label, Mechanized Records. He also sold his music to John Elkins, A&R director for <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22OM+Records%22">OM Records</a>, who later hired Raddon to assist him at the label. By night, Kaskade spun at local clubs and by day helped kick-start the careers of many artists, including Ming + FS and soul-house act <a href="spotify:artist:3GeU43m5eWxLSfdJQ0s5h9">Soulstice</a>. His own full-length recordings under the Kaskade moniker began with 2003's house-inflected It's You, It's Me. A soulful, more organic direction provided focus for the following year's In the Moment, and Raddon kept his name in the record racks by piloting editions in the San Francisco Sessions DJ series (as well as the label mix House of OM). He proved surprisingly dedicated to his production craft, releasing Love Mysterious in 2006, which placed on Billboard's electronic albums chart. That same year, he parted ways with <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22OM%22">OM</a> and signed with <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Ultra%22">Ultra</a>. Arriving in 2008, Strobelight Seduction -- featuring production by <a href="spotify:artist:2CIMQHirSU0MQqyYHq0eOx">Deadmau5</a> -- became his biggest commercial success to date, buoyed by the lead single "Move for Me." Released in 2010, Dynasty celebrated his new reputation with a parade of vocal features and a co-production with <a href="spotify:artist:2o5jDhtHVPhrJdv3cEQ99Z">Tiësto</a>. It also became his first LP to chart on the Billboard 200. That year, Raddon put together Electric Daisy Carnival, a mix showcasing artists on the bill for the inaugural dance music festival of the same name. The double-album Fire & Ice followed in 2011 and debuted in the Billboard Top 20. Featuring a production assist from <a href="spotify:artist:5he5w2lnU9x7JFhnwcekXX">Skrillex</a> on "Lick It," the effort also included guest vocals from <a href="spotify:artist:0RpddSzUHfncUWNJXKOsjy">Neon Trees</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4utLUGcTvOJFr6aqIJtYWV">Skylar Grey</a>. Atmosphere arrived two years later and featured softer, more relaxed music along with vocals from Kaskade himself. After the 2014 compilation I Remember rounded up the best material from his years on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Ultra%22">Ultra</a>, the DJ renewed his contract with the label and one year later released Automatic. The album featured guest appearances from <a href="spotify:artist:5T0MSzX9RC5NA6gAI6irSn">Estelle</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:4sTQVOfp9vEMCemLw50sbu">Galantis</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:15xvsJMf8phaNa1LYvL9Qv">John Dahlbäck</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:0pCNk4D3E2xtszsm6hMsWr">K. Flay</a>, and peaked on the Billboard Electronic chart at number two. In 2016, Kaskade joined <a href="spotify:artist:2CIMQHirSU0MQqyYHq0eOx">Deadmau5</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:4utLUGcTvOJFr6aqIJtYWV">Skylar Grey</a> on the single "Beneath Me." BIO
Don Diablo (real name Don Pepijn Schipper) is a future house DJ/producer who has scored numerous chart and club hits starting in the early 2000s. He issued his debut, the house- and hip-hop-flavored Life Is a Festival, in 2008, while its follow-up, Forever, would not arrive until 2018. In the decade between releases, he busied himself with high-profile collaborations and sold-out live sets. Born in Coevorden, Netherlands, the producer got his start in music at the early age of 15, when he signed his first record deal. However, it wasn't until his later years that his productions began to turn heads both within the industry and among electronic dance music lovers the world over. Tracks such as "On My Mind," "Cutting Shapes," and "AnyTime" became instant hits, and the producer soon found that he was in high demand to remix tracks from a vast array of high-profile songwriters and artists spanning a variety of genres. Diablo received frequent requests to bring his eclectic dance and house flavors to numerous chart hits, from the likes of Madonna and Rihanna to Bastille and Ed Sheeran. While balancing remix work alongside his seemingly nonstop international touring schedule, he also found himself collaborating and working on original tracks with artists such as Tiësto, Tinie Tempah, and Kelis. He scored two mid-2000s chart hits with his side project Divided, and subsequent years saw Schipper collaborate with a further range of diverse artists under the Don Diablo moniker. He issued his official full-length debut, Life Is a Festival, in 2008. The set featured appearances by Shystie, Bizzey, J-Rock, Rhymefest, and others, climbing into the Dutch Top 40. The track "Hooligans," which Diablo had produced with rapper Example, saw dominance on the U.K. dance chart in 2009, while the following year saw more success for the young producer with the track "Animale," which featured Canadian electronic outfit Dragonette. Don Diablo had more glowing moments in 2013 when house music titan Pete Tong spun six of his tracks on his BBC Radio 1 show. The year also saw Diablo take up a brief residency at the Las Vegas nightclub Light, and embark on sold-out solo tours of both the U.S. and Asia. In 2015 he put together his own record label, Hexagon, which saw instant success with the release of a collaborative remix of British tropical house DJ Alex Adair's hit "Make Me Feel Better." Subsequent releases on the label also dominated the higher end of the charts, particularly in the States and the U.K., and Hexagon was named Breakthrough EDM Label of 2015 by Beatport. Hexagon's own radio show went on to air in over 35 countries, gaining him an ever-burgeoning fan base of listeners. In 2015, Diablo worked with fellow Dutch DJ Tiësto on the track "Chemicals," which also featured vocals from Danish singer/songwriter Thomas Troelsen. More sold-out tours and performances followed in 2016, with Don Diablo also claiming the number 15 spot on DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs list, and ranking as number one Future House Artist of the Year by Beatport. The year also saw the DJ branch out into other creative avenues, creating the theme song to the widely acclaimed Batman: Arkham Origins video game. Once again, the track became a quick hit, racking up millions of plays online. In 2017, the young producer continued touring and put out the compilation album Past.Present.Future via Hexagon, followed in early 2018 by his sophomore full-length Future. Featuring contributions by Nina Nesbitt, Calum Scott, Betty Who, and more, the album marked his first appearance on the Billboard charts, entering the dance/electronic list at number nine. Also that year he issued the non-album single "Survive" featuring Emeli Sandé and Gucci Mane. ~ Rob Wacey

BIO
French electronic music producer and DJ Christophe Le Friant has built a career under the Bob Sinclar moniker, spreading the sounds of French house to international ears from the late '90s and beyond. In the midst of a mid-2000s chart run -- with his trio of Western Dream, Soundz of Freedom, and Born in '69 all certified gold in his native France -- his song "Love Generation" topped charts across the globe in 2005 and he received a Grammy nomination the year after for another chart-topper, "World, Hold On (Children of the Sky)" featuring <a href="spotify:artist:2SwhNukah1MYpLR594PnuC">Steve Edwards</a>. He continued to release charting singles into the 2010s, including the gold-certified chart hits "Feel the Vibe" and "I Believe." In the 2022, "World, Hold On" was reworked by <a href="spotify:artist:1VJ0briNOlXRtJUAzoUJdt">Fisher</a> and became a hit in Australia and the U.K. In addition to making music, he is also the head of the French label <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Yellow+Productions%22">Yellow Productions</a>, which he founded in 1993 with <a href="spotify:artist:7H4LLUQuSwP4XI3jID9s87">Alain Ho</a>. Le Friant made his debut as Chris the French Kiss in the '80s, creating downtempo hip-hop project <a href="spotify:artist:3QJR3Dzq3qUDl40cV3XsTl">the Mighty Bop</a> and his acid jazz Réminiscence Quartet. In the late '90s, he started performing as Bob Sinclar (named after a character in the well-known French film Le Magnifique), issuing his debut effort Paradise in 1998. The set charted in France, New Zealand, and the U.K. Sinclar followed in 2000 with Champs Elysees, which was certified gold in France. After 2003's III, he stormed charts across Europe with 2006's Western Dream, home to hit singles "Love Generation," "World, Hold On," "Rock This Party," and "Tennessee." He quickly followed with Soundz of Freedom in 2007, his first Top Ten release. His mid-2000s chart success continued on 2009's Born in '69, which featured appearances by <a href="spotify:artist:7zliF6Q946WznVk3ZMYhZX">the Sugarhill Gang</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3j7Sw80qzL2FJlryUhI3wG">Shabba Ranks</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1xNmvlEiICkRlRGqlNFZ43">Axwell</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:1GaBsp1ICIp1e6udgE7fba">Kevin Lyttle</a>. Sinclar kicked off the 2010s with the remix effort Made in Jamaica, which spun his greatest hits with a distinct island twist. Reggae artists <a href="spotify:artist:5EvFsr3kj42KNv97ZEnqij">Shaggy</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2cSQyZg5t274Y3Nv0uuwjd">Gary Pine</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5SK75gxwqKq5Zc1mdLfwv9">Queen Ifrica</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0eyU8FDZOOlay1MxO2ze4E">Tony Rebel</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:0TsTesOYlZmHOLnFPLPKLZ">Dollarman</a> all made appearances on the <a href="spotify:artist:6jJG408jz8VayohX86nuTt">Sly & Robbie</a>-produced set. Recruiting <a href="spotify:artist:0TnOYISbd1XYRBk9myaseg">Pitbull</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:15GGbJKqC6w0VYyAJtjej6">Fatman Scoop</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2cBh5lVMg222FFuRU7EfDE">Sophie Ellis-Bextor</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:7hJcb9fa4alzcOq3EaNPoG">Snoop Dogg</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:3Isy6kedDrgPYoTS1dazA9">Sean Paul</a>, Sinclar took a page from <a href="spotify:artist:1Cs0zKBU1kc0i8ypK3B9ai">David Guetta</a>'s high-profile collaboration handbook with 2012's Disco Crash, which landed in the French Top 20. He followed with the sleek Paris by Night mix in 2013. Sinclar continued with non-album single releases, including 2015's gold-certified "Feel the Vibe" with Dawn Tillman, 2016's Top 50 "Someone Who Needs Me," and 2017's "Til the Sun Rise Up" with <a href="spotify:artist:0z4gvV4rjIZ9wHck67ucSV">Akon</a>. In 2018 he issued "I Believe," another gold-certified single. Kicking off the 2020s, he released a steady stream of single, notably 2021's "We Could Be Dancing" with Molly Hammar and a <a href="spotify:artist:1VJ0briNOlXRtJUAzoUJdt">Fisher</a> remix of "World, Hold On" that received gold certification in Australia and the U.K. Through 2023, Sinclar teamed with <a href="spotify:artist:6alPczkkZlUZwomoKjrtMc">Salome de Bahia</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0SpOOyFUDv9WQGiwvHZKJo">QUINZE</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:1TRFAJu3Cw64APToZaGk9D">Riva Starr</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3TaUSUXn41GixL7zbvrIDt">A-Trak</a>, and others on various tracks and remixes. ~ Neil Z. After working for artists like Loreen and Diana Vickers under the name of Simen & Espen, the production team of Simen Eriksrud and Espen Berg launched the electronic dance music act SeeB. The Norwegian duo first came together as owners of Oslo's The Living Room, a recording studio used by acts from the glamorous pop superstar Lady Gaga to the Polish death metal act Khold. Simen & Espen earned their own production credits beginning in 2012 with work on Loreen's Living Room album Heal, and in 2014 they worked on Kiesza's Sound of a Woman, with SeeB getting a credit for remixes sourced from the album. In 2016, SeeB came into its own with the single "Breathe," released by EMI and featuring vocals from Neev. They also incorporated Nick Strand, turning SeeB into a trio. That year, they made their mainstream breakthrough with a remix of Mike Posner's "I Took a Pill in Ibiza," which broke into the Top 10 across Europe and in the United States. Remixes of Coldplay's "Hymn for the Weekend" and OneRepublic's "Kids" followed, further increasing their audience. In 2017, the duo returned with the singles "Under Your Skin," with R. City, "Boys in the Street," featuring Greg Holden, and "Cruel World," a collaboration with Skip Marley. Also that year, they paired with OneRepublic for the track "Rich Love." SeeB's debut EP, Nice to Meet You, appeared in 2018, and included the single "Drink About," featuring singer Dagny. Later that year, they teamed with Bastille for the single "Grip." ~ David Jeffries

Taking their inspiration and distinct imagery from the iconic 1977 docudrama Pumping Iron (featuring a very young and pumped Arnold Schwarzenegger), Bicep is the musical brainchild of Belfast-raised duo Andy Ferguson and Matt McBriar. DJ'ing and collecting vinyl since their late teens, the pair's love of disco, Chicago house, Detroit techno, Italo-disco, and everything analog in between inspired them to create a music-based blog titled Feel My Bicep. Acting as an outlet for the duo's eclectic and esoteric dance music tastes, as well as showcasing personal mixes and re-edits, they moved to London and began DJ'ing around the capital. As the website grew in stature and reputation (it featured guest mixes from Simian Mobile Disco, Ben Sun, and Ooft, among many others), they began to hone their own production skills, resulting in their first 12" release on Citizen Kane's Ghost Town label (a re-edit called "Strawberry," issued in 2009). It was their 2010 12", "Darwin," on the Rapture's co-owned label Throne of Blood that got them wider recognition. With the early support of Beats in Space host and DFA cohort Tim Sweeney, it topped the Boomkat chart and became XLR8R's most downloaded track of 2010. Bicep also released 313 on Traveller Records. This led to worldwide DJ gigs, another release on Throne of Blood -- the Silk EP -- and more remix opportunities in 2011, with the likes of Blood Orange, Tal M. Klein, Medlar, and Cosmic Kids all getting the Bicep treatment. During this same year, they started a monthly residency at Plastic People in East London. In 2012, the pair focused their affection for '90s-produced New Jersey house music on their vinyl-only 12" "$tripper" on Love Fever Records and provided well-received remixes for Blondes and Chamboche. During the latter part of 2012, Bicep collaborated with Ejeca and Omar Odyssey for the You/Don't EP on Will Saul and Fink's Aus Records, and formed their own label, which shared the name of their blog, Feel My Bicep. The label's first release, the duo's "Vision of Love," became a club hit, and was remixed by Detroit legend Carl Craig and released as a 12" by Kevin Saunderson's KMS label. The duo also collaborated with Simian Mobile Disco for 2013's "Sacrifice," released by SMD's Delicacies imprint. Bicep continued releasing club smashes, including "Satisfy," "D-Mil" (with Midland), and especially "Just," which was named 2015's track of the year by Mixmag and DJ Mag. They took their Feel My Bicep parties to clubs and festivals across the globe, and began performing live concerts in addition to DJ gigs, attracting huge crowds for both. In 2017, Bicep signed to Ninja Tune and geared up for the release of their long-awaited debut full-length. Simply titled Bicep, it was preceded by the singles "Glue" and "Aura," and arrived in September. ~ Aneet Nijjar

BIO
Moby was one of the most controversial figures in techno music, alternately praised for bringing a face to the notoriously anonymous electronic genre and scorned by hordes of techno artists and fans for diluting and trivializing the form. In either case, Moby was one of the most important dance music figures of the early '90s, helping bring the music to a mainstream audience both in England and in America. Moby fused rapid disco beats with heavy distorted guitars, punk rhythms, and detailed productions that drew equally from pop, dance, and movie soundtracks. Not only did his music differ from both the cool surface textures of ambient music and the hedonistic world of house music, but so did his lifestyle; Moby was famous for his devout radical Christian beliefs, as well as his environmental and vegan activism. "Go" became a British Top Ten hit in 1991, establishing him as one of the premier techno producers. By the time he came to the attention of American record critics with 1995's Everything Is Wrong, his following from the early '90s had begun to erode, particularly in Britain. Nevertheless, he remained one of the most recognizable figures within techno; after he abandoned the music for guitar rock with 1996's Animal Rights, he returned to a heavy electronic base with 1997's I Like to Score and 1999's Play, the latter of which made him a genuine breakout pop star. Born Richard Melville Hall, Moby received his nickname as a child; it derives from the fact that Herman Melville, the author of Moby Dick, is his great-great grand uncle. Moby was raised in Darien, Connecticut, where he played in a hardcore punk band called the Vatican Commandos as a teenager. Later, he briefly sang with Flipper while their singer was serving time in jail. He briefly attended college before he moved to New York City, where he began DJ'ing in dance clubs. During the late '80s and 1990, he released a number of singles and EPs for the independent label Instinct. In 1991, he set the theme from David Lynch's television series Twin Peaks to an insistent house-derived rhythm while remixing his track "Go," the B-side to his debut single "Mobility." The updated "Go" became a surprise British hit single, climbing into the Top Ten. Following its success, Moby was invited to remix a number of mainstream and underground acts, including Michael Jackson, Pet Shop Boys, Brian Eno, Depeche Mode, Erasure, the B-52s, and Orbital. Moby continued performing at dances and raves throughout 1991 and 1992, culminating in a set at 1992's Mixmag awards, where he broke his keyboards at the end of his concert. Moby, his first full-length album, appeared in 1992, although it was released without Moby's involvement and contained tracks that were at least a year old at the time. In 1993, he released the double A-sided single "I Feel It"/"Thousand," which became a moderate U.K. hit. According to The Guinness Book of Records, "Thousand" is the fastest single ever, appropriately clocking in at 1,000 beats a minute. That same year, Moby signed a record contract with Mute in the U.K. and major-label Elektra in the U.S. His first release for both labels was the six-song EP Move. His previous American label, Instinct, continued releasing CD collections of his work against his wishes. These included Ambient, which compiled unissued material recorded between 1988 and 1991, and Early Underground, which collected tracks from several of his singles and EPs under different pseudonyms, including the original version of "Go." The Story So Far, a U.K. version of Moby with a different track listing, also appeared. In 1994, the single "Hymn" -- one of the first fusions of gospel, techno, and ambient music -- was released. The song re-appeared as the lead track to Everything Is Wrong, his first album released under his new record deals. The full-length appeared in the spring of 1995 to uniformly positive reviews, especially in the American press, which had previously ignored him. Despite the promotional push behind the album and his popular sets at the 1995 Lollapalooza festival, the album wasn't a commercial success. "Bring Back My Happiness," however, was a Top Ten hit on Billboard's club chart. The following year, Moby revisited his roots in heavy guitar-based music for 1996's Animal Rights, which featured a cover of Mission of Burma's "That's When I Reach for My Revolver" and received mixed reviews. He also released The End of Everything, an ambient techno album credited to his occasional pseudonym Voodoo Child, on Trophy Records, his own sub-label of Mute. One year later, Elektra collected his soundtrack highlights for I Like to Score, a compilation that included his remix of "The James Bond Theme" for Tomorrow Never Dies, as well as contributions to Cool World, Heat, and Scream. Moby's fifth studio album, Play, appeared in 1999. Surpassing everyone's expectations, the album -- featuring numerous samples of Alan Lomax field recordings -- went double platinum in the U.S. and reached number one in the U.K. Aside from its hit singles, Play's success was assured when its tracks were licensed by dozens of advertisers and compilers. Always a restless producer, Moby followed Play with 18 (2002), a relatively reflective and restrained set dotted with an eclectic list of guest vocalists (including MC Lyte, Angie Stone, and Sinéad O'Connor). It debuted at number four on the U.S. Billboard 200 but didn't come close to catching Play in terms of sales. The downward trend in mainstream appeal continued with Hotel (2005), a mixture of basic contemporary rock and downbeat electronica; early copies were bundled with an ambient disc worthy of separate release. On Last Night, seemingly unaware of contemporary trends in dance music, Moby made a return to club hedonism with some of his most creative -- if unapologetically nostalgic -- material. The austere and morose Wait for Me (2009), featuring a show-stealing appearance from soul singer Leela James, was just the opposite in tone. Destroyed (2011), recorded during late-night sessions in hotel rooms, offered a natural extension of Wait for Me's alienated feel. The companion piece Destroyed Remixed (2012) followed shortly thereafter; a limited double-disc compilation, it featured exclusive remixes by David Lynch, Holy Ghost!, and System Divine, as well as a previously unreleased 30-minute ambient piece by Moby himself. After several appearances in early 2013, including DJ sets at the Coachella Festival, Moby released a single for Record Store Day entitled "The Lonely Night," which featured vocals from Mark Lanegan. The song was included on Innocents, a predominantly downcast album released that October. Other guest vocalists included Damien Jurado, the Flaming Lips' Wayne Coyne, and Skylar Grey. Three shows were performed in support of the album, all of which took place at Los Angeles' Fonda Theatre. A two-CD/two-DVD documentary, Almost Home, was released in March 2014. Late that year, Moby released an expanded edition of Hotel Ambient, which was originally featured as a bonus disc on the limited-edition version of 2005's Hotel. An additional ambient collection, Long Ambients 1: Calm. Sleep., was later released as a free download. During the latter half of 2015, Moby debuted Moby & the Void Pacific Choir. The first single, "The Light Is Clear in My Eyes," brought back some of the post-punk-inspired crunch from Animal Rights. The following May, he published Porcelain: A Memoir, which focused on his life in the '90s. The book was complemented by a two-disc collection that included Moby highlights from that decade and a selection of tracks by artists who influenced him, including the Jungle Brothers, 808 State, and A Tribe Called Quest. An album from Moby & the Void Pacific Choir, These Systems Are Failing, arrived later in the year. The second Void Pacific Choir effort, More Fast Songs About the Apocalypse, was issued in the summer of 2017. Moby returned the following year with Everything Was Beautiful, And Nothing Hurt. Taking its title from Kurt Vonnegut's book Slaughterhouse-Five, the album also saw him looking back to classic trip-hop for influence. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine & Andy Kellman

In a moment of clarity while on tour, Chris Lake felt an undeniable urge to refocus his sound and career. “I ended up back in England where I lived for many years with my family, in my mother’s spare room,” he says. “It was like going back to the old me to find the new me.” Lake’s credits include several Billboard chart-toppers, a platinum record, a Grammy nomination, a successful record label, and a Midas touch for supporting emerging talent. Enter 2017 and he’s showing no signs of slowing. He kicked off the year with a new record label called “Black Book Records”. The debut release “Operator ft. Dances With White Girls”, was the Holy Ship! anthem by the end of January and gained support from almost every house DJ - from Claude Vonstroke and Green Velvet to Disclosure and Duke Dumont. The viral lyrics became unavoidable at spring festivals. March saw OWSLA release “I Want You” with a gory mind-bending video that’s gained over 2M views. By April a compilation Chris co-curated with Skrillex was released called HOWSLA. It put an emphasis on forward thinking four to the floor records by young producers. The compilation went to #1 in the iTunes Dance Chart and was celebrated at a live-streamed release party. Not only is Chris Lake feeling inspired, he’s overflowing with work. “I’ve got enough material to release a record every 4 weeks for the next 18 months”.

Formerly half of nu-disco duo Aeroplane, Belgian DJ and producer Stephen Fasano left in 2010 to launch his own solo project, with which he found chart success. Born in the late '70s, the half-Italian Fasano grew up in a deprived, industrial area of southern Belgium, listening to his father's collection of pop and disco music such as ABBA, Supertramp, Michael Jackson, and Giorgio Moroder. In his early teens he inherited a collection of Italo-disco records from his uncle, who had been a DJ but had hung up his hat. Fasano caught the DJ'ing bug and began performing, which he did for many years while holding down a day job. In 2004 he met fellow Belgian-Italian Vito de Luca, who owned a record shop, and the two bonded over shared musical tastes. They began collaborating, going through a number of short-lived projects before founding Aeroplane in 2007. Their lush nu-disco sound was very well-received, and they DJ'ed all over the world before recording an album, We Can't Fly, in 2010. Shortly before the album was released, Fasano left the group over musical differences and launched himself as the Magician. Initially finding fame through his monthly series of free download mixes, filled with rare Italo-disco nuggets which he named "Magic Tapes," he released his debut EP, Twist, on Kitsuné in collaboration with Yuksek as Peter & the Magician. Another EP, Memory, and the single "I Don't Know What to Do" followed. He came to much wider attention with his hugely popular remixes of pop acts like Lykke Li, Chromeo, Clean Bandit, and Wolf Gang, and in 2013 was signed to Parlophone. His debut single for the label was "When the Night Is Over," which entered the Top 30 in Belgium, but it was his next, 2014's "Sunlight," which gave him his first big hit as a headliner. Featuring vocalist Olly Alexander of British electro-pop trio Years & Years, the summery, infectious single went to number seven in both the Belgian and the U.K. charts. The same year, he founded a digital label, Potion, named after his club night of the same name. "Together" and "Shy" followed as singles in 2015 and 2016. He signed with Sony in 2017, the year Julian Perretta teamed up with him for "Tied Up." ~ John D. Buchanan

In a now long forgotten world, many generations ago, a bird like shape emerged from wooded darkness, floating and fluttering, drifting and dreaming. Backlit by a bright glow of iridescent light, the undecipherable form wore a dazzling golden mask. Its long beak swooped down like an inverted horn and since then, people have referred to the mythical being simply as Claptone. Years spending wandering medieval landscapes have informed Claptone’s view of the world, experiencing both magical mystery and muted melancholy he enchanted onlookers with occult instruments and beguiling sounds. Forever surrounded by a sense of intrigue, the world soon cottoned on to the elusive yet enchanting musical powers of this otherworldly beast. The results are that, today, his shamanistic sonic powers take him all around the world... BIO
With his sleek synth melodies, billowing basslines, and undeniable hooks, the GRAMMY-nominated artist ZHU creates tracks that are as sexy as they are sinister. Though many know ZHU as a producer and DJ, he’s much more than that: he’s also a singer, performer, instrumentalist, and, importantly, a songwriter and filmmaker, two facets he delves into for his ambitious new album and film GRACE. The dual projects navigate a carefully written journey from darkness to light, tension to release, uncertainty to peace. ZHU created an accompanying film (out this fall) that fully captures GRACE’s breathtaking audio-visual spectacle. The album, which will double as the film’s soundtrack, is the clearest manifestation of ZHU’s multifaceted artistic state of mind. ZHU first made his presence known to the world with his 2014 single, “Faded,” which was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the 2015 Grammy Awards. He stamped his spot with his genre-blurring 2016 debut, GENERATIONWHY. He only continued to evolve with subsequent projects like RINGOS DESERT (2018), DREAMLAND 2021 (2021), Musical Chairs Mixtape (Vol. 1) (2022) and Days Before Grace EP (2023), a prologue to Grace. Upon the release of GRACE, ZHU is reflecting on his career and he’s also ready for new boundaries to push. Far from a standard dance record or a collection of singles, ZHU intends GRACE to be listened to from beginning to end, as he tells a story that’s surely worth watching.
