BIO
Whether behind the piano in his studio or headlining a sold-out festival, Kygo quietly reaffirms his status as a prodigious talent, forward-thinking producer, dynamic DJ, and influential global superstar. The Norwegian musician born Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll first introduced himself in 2013 and quietly became one of the most ubiquitous hitmakers in the world while emerging as Spotify’s “Breakout Artist of 2015.” “Firestone” ft. Conrad Sewell and “Stole the Show” ft. Parson James help cement Kygo as “the fastest artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify.” In the wake of his chart-topping 2016 full- length debut Cloud Nine, he delivered memorable performances on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Good Morning America, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Plus, he notably performed “Carry Me” during the Closing Ceremony of the Rio Olympics. In 2017, he earned one of his biggest hits with the multiplatinum “It Ain’t Me” [feat. Selena Gomez], going Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and clocking nearly 1 billion Spotify streams. He maintained his momentum on the Stargazing EP and second album, Kids In Love. The ensuing Kids In Love Tour canvased four continents and sold out arenas. In 2019, Kygo unleashed “Higher Love” with Whitney Houston and generated another 1 billion combined streams and views in addition to leaving his imprint on a classic. He heralded his 2020 third full-length album Golden Hour with the anthems “Like It Is” and “I’ll Wait.”

After working for artists like Loreen and Diana Vickers under the name of Simen & Espen, the production team of Simen Eriksrud and Espen Berg launched the electronic dance music act SeeB. The Norwegian duo first came together as owners of Oslo's The Living Room, a recording studio used by acts from the glamorous pop superstar Lady Gaga to the Polish death metal act Khold. Simen & Espen earned their own production credits beginning in 2012 with work on Loreen's Living Room album Heal, and in 2014 they worked on Kiesza's Sound of a Woman, with SeeB getting a credit for remixes sourced from the album. In 2016, SeeB came into its own with the single "Breathe," released by EMI and featuring vocals from Neev. They also incorporated Nick Strand, turning SeeB into a trio. That year, they made their mainstream breakthrough with a remix of Mike Posner's "I Took a Pill in Ibiza," which broke into the Top 10 across Europe and in the United States. Remixes of Coldplay's "Hymn for the Weekend" and OneRepublic's "Kids" followed, further increasing their audience. In 2017, the duo returned with the singles "Under Your Skin," with R. City, "Boys in the Street," featuring Greg Holden, and "Cruel World," a collaboration with Skip Marley. Also that year, they paired with OneRepublic for the track "Rich Love." SeeB's debut EP, Nice to Meet You, appeared in 2018, and included the single "Drink About," featuring singer Dagny. Later that year, they teamed with Bastille for the single "Grip." ~ David Jeffries

Since making his debut in 2015, artist and producer Matoma has risen from a bedroom producer posting on SoundCloud to one of dance music’s biggest stars. Between his solo tracks, two albums and collabs with everyone from Dua Lipa to Snoop Dogg, the Norwegian artist amassed a staggering 2 billion + streams. With this new chapter in his career Matoma brings songs with the energy, irresistible melodies, and relatable stories that can get a party pumping, motivate your morning, or bring solace to sadness - cutting across genres but always connected by a sense of feelgood, everything-is-possible positivity. A sound that is flavoured with vintage synths and the warmth of live instrumentation from local musicians. It’s also the result of now having the creative freedom to release his music independently. Matoma’s music is a very natural extension of the man himself: the sonic equivalent to his beaming, beatific smile and constant quest to find ways to make a positive impact upon the world. Or, as he smiles, “This music is as close to who I am as you get.”

Norwegian duo Röyksopp compensated for the cold climes of their native Tromsø by making some of the warmest, most inviting downbeat electronica of the 21st century, exemplified by early tracks like "Eple" and "Poor Leno." The pair, Torbjørn Brundtland and Svein Berge, both grew up in Tromsø and began recording in the early '90s. Local-made-good Geir Jenssen (aka Biosphere) provided tutelage and almost convinced the duo to record for R&S sublabel Apollo. After a few years apart, Brundtland and Berge met up again in Bergen and re-formed Röyksopp in 1998. The group released a few singles on Tellé, then signed up to the big beat label Wall of Sound. The Röyksopp debut was 2001's Eple single; both "Eple" and another track ("Poor Leno") earned slots on over a dozen chillout compilations that year or the next. Their first full-length, Melody A.M., appeared in late 2001. After spending a few years performing live and remixing artists including Beck and Annie, Röyksopp returned with new material in 2005; the single Only This Moment heralded the summer release of the duo's second album, The Understanding, which featured more traditionally structured songs than their earlier work. The live EP Röyksopp's Night Out appeared a year later, and the third album -- Junior, their most upbeat set -- came in March 2009. It was followed, appropriately, by Senior, a relatively sedate album of all instrumentals released in 2010 that became the duo's fourth consecutive number one album in their homeland. Late in 2013, they resurfaced with the single Running to the Sea, a collaboration with Susanne Sundfør. The following May, their collaboration with Robyn, Do It Again, balanced the duo's lush, introspective sound with her commanding vocals. In September 2014 the duo advertised the forthcoming release of their fifth album, The Inevitable End, which they announced would be their last release "in the traditional album format." A darker, more high-energy affair than before, it was released in November of that year. The effort featured vocals by Sundfør ("Save Me" and "Running to the Sea"), Jamie Irrepressible ("You Know I Have to Go," "I Had This Thing," "Compulsion," and "Here She Comes Again"), and a reworked version of the Do It Again single "Monument" with Robyn. In 2016, Röyksopp contributed to the Star Wars Headspace compilation with the track "Bounty Hunters" and also issued another Susanne Sundfør collaboration, Never Ever. ~ John Bush

Todd Terje, born Terje Olsen, arrived on the Scandinavian dance scene in 2004 and, in short order, became one of its prominent figures beside early supporter <a href="spotify:artist:4rsEVNO1tGTY0beCnsnHi6">Prins Thomas</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0eoL9yfbhhpevgDpEUIKon">Hans-Peter Lindstrøm</a>. Terje channeled a voracious appetite for several styles of music -- including dub, disco, synth pop, house, and techno -- into warmly received edits of tracks by <a href="spotify:artist:1LZEQNv7sE11VDY3SdxQeN">the Bee Gees</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:3fMbdgg4jU18AjLCKBhRSm">Michael Jackson</a>, and <a href="spotify:artist:6GI52t8N5F02MxU0g5U69P">Santana</a>. He also made a splash in 2005 with "Eurodans," one of his own productions, released on <a href="spotify:artist:4rsEVNO1tGTY0beCnsnHi6">Thomas</a>' <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Full+Pupp%22">Full Pupp</a> label. By 2006, it was difficult to keep tabs on all of Terje's remix work, though the man's looks at <a href="spotify:artist:2vTtjIqZ7hW0W15t1ApKTB">Lindstrøm</a>'s "Another Station," <a href="spotify:artist:3S7qyu1bgdKJOULPObmxR8">Studio</a>'s "Life's a Beach!," <a href="spotify:artist:5fr4WRZR59VYttwBALTLUo">Kaoru Inoue</a>'s "The Secret Field," and <a href="spotify:artist:1UbgLp0E5zKU0BAhpPp59B">Dølle Jølle</a>'s "Balearic Incarnation" weren't easy to avoid in discerning DJ sets. On Remaster of the Universe, released on 2010 through <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Permanent+Vacation%22">Permanent Vacation</a>, Terje served up a collection of his edits and remixes in the form of a continuous DJ mix. This was followed by 2012's It's the Arps on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Smalltown+Supersound%22">Smalltown Supersound</a>, which contained another club hit, "Inspector Norse." His profile was raised outside of the dance music world through his co-writing of <a href="spotify:artist:2HcwFjNelS49kFbfvMxQYw">Robbie Williams</a>' chart-topping single "Candy" in 2012 and his production of a couple songs on <a href="spotify:artist:0XNa1vTidXlvJ2gHSsRi4A">Franz Ferdinand</a>'s 2013 album Right Thoughts Right Words Right Action. He also produced and mixed fellow Norwegian <a href="spotify:artist:2vTtjIqZ7hW0W15t1ApKTB">Lindstrøm</a>'s 2012 album Smalhans, while prepping his long-overdue debut album. It's Album Time arrived in early 2014 on his own Olsen label. A proggy, colorful opus, the album was well received, particularly for its cover of <a href="spotify:artist:530Sdm7eqqzWBdDmILMgnu">Robert Palmer</a>'s "Johnny and Mary" featuring singer <a href="spotify:artist:5RNFFojXkPRmlJZIwXeKQC">Bryan Ferry</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:3fhOTtm0LBJ3Ojn4hIljLo">Roxy Music</a>). Hi, I’m Jakob, and I make music. I started producing EDM in middle school - I think I was around 12 or 13. After a couple of years of grinding FL Studio, I was picked up by UK EDM giant NoCopyrightSounds (NCS). They released my first single, <a href="spotify:track:667IW0eQdnMCIDvuEG2qFp" data-name="She Got Me Like">She Got Me Like</a>, in 2015. Almost immediately after the release of my second NCS single, <a href="spotify:track:6fD124QXUnXVGYymzRLNKd" data-name="Wouldn't Change It">Wouldn't Change It</a>, I went into a 4 year long hiatus. I spent that time practicing my instruments (including learning how to play guitar), working on my singing and songwriting, and actively trying to have fun with music without the pressure of releasing anything. Then 2019 came around, and I'd whipped up a brand new complete single, <a href="spotify:album:40Bwy41GzHFjnU9nbgO4np" data-name="CTRL Z">CTRL Z</a>. Surprise (!) - it got signed by NCS, and marked my musical comeback. After the release of <a href="spotify:album:40Bwy41GzHFjnU9nbgO4np" data-name="CTRL Z">CTRL Z</a>, I started working alongside other artists. <a href="spotify:artist:4X76fYx1a6EmEvCqDudesG" data-name="Netrum">Netrum</a>, being a close friend, was my go-to-guy for collaborative projects for a good while (I owe him a gigantic "THANK YOU" for constantly reminding me how fun music making can be). Since, I've had the pleasure of working with some amazing producers, writing and recording vocals for projects of various genres. Hey, sidenote, but does anyone actually read these bios? Am I wasting my time? If you see this, drop me an Instagram DM over at @halvorsen_music. Later

In the beginning there was light. A source of power, a redeeming force illuminating the universe with goodness. Though the light was strong, it’s opposite known as darkness was more deceiving. All creatures of the universe started to interfere with darkness, they got more attached to it with each passing day. Chaos ruled the universe and there seemed to be no hope for redemption, until one day, three lights illuminated the entire universe. The creatures of the universe were all struck to the ground by the power of the light. Three silhouettes started to form and the creatures began to hear music. It got louder and louder, eventually the creatures started to dance. the whole universe was free from darkness, and the silhouettes, called <a href="spotify:artist:23xCxwjg6Bqwm7rh6n9Kjd" data-name="Olympis">Olympis</a> still bring joy and goodness to the universe. <a href="spotify:artist:23xCxwjg6Bqwm7rh6n9Kjd" data-name="Olympis">Olympis</a>. Starting out as a relatively unknown figure in the Norwegian dance underground, Hans-Peter Lindstrøm experienced one of the most spectacular success stories of any Norwegian producer or artist. Starting his own label, spotify:search:label%3A%22Feedelity%22 , in 2002, Lindstrøm released a series of highly acclaimed EPs and 12" singles over the next few years, becoming an increasingly well-respected producer and remixer on the international club scene, both on his own and together with his longtime collaborator <a href="spotify:artist:4rsEVNO1tGTY0beCnsnHi6" data-name="Prins Thomas">Prins Thomas</a>. He remixed artists such as <a href="spotify:artist:066X20Nz7iquqkkCW6Jxy6" data-name="LCD Soundsystem">LCD Soundsystem</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:0XNa1vTidXlvJ2gHSsRi4A" data-name="Franz Ferdinand">Franz Ferdinand</a>, and his own 12" release, I Feel Space, gained a huge cult reputation among DJs all over the world. Lindstrøm's musical style is sometimes tagged space disco, while his somewhat indefinable sound has also been explained as the result of him not really listening to dance music before he started to produce it himself. Coming from a rock and country background, Lindstrøm is said to have started making dance music simply to figure out how it was done. Together with <a href="spotify:artist:4rsEVNO1tGTY0beCnsnHi6" data-name="Prins Thomas">Prins Thomas</a>, Lindstrøm released the album Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas (Eskimo) in 2005, while his own long-awaited debut, It's a Feedelity Affair (spotify:search:label%3A%22Feedelity%22 /spotify:search:label%3A%22Smalltown+Supersound%22 , 2006), fulfilled the huge expectations of music writers and fans, and became one of the most acclaimed releases within the club genre that year. The sprawling Where You Go I Go Too (its title track nearly half an hour in duration) followed on spotify:search:label%3A%22Smalltown+Supersound%22 in 2008 and landed on the year-end lists of several publications. The next year, he collaborated with vocalist <a href="spotify:artist:1tGGx3MFXshoO5UyPyk1re" data-name="Christabelle">Christabelle</a> for Real Life Is No Cool, an album based on shorter, more song-oriented compositions that divided its intent between the dancefloor and home listening. Six Cups of Rebel, a tense, experimental set, was released in early 2012, with the back-to-basics Smalhans following later that same year. Lindstrøm collaborated with <a href="spotify:artist:49gaZqfow2v8EEQmjGyEIw" data-name="Todd Terje">Todd Terje</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:3Mvg8yidz5g6sKE4j6jGFh" data-name="Maya Vik">Maya Vik</a> on 12" releases that arrived prior to the 2015 full-length Runddans, a 12-part piece recorded with whimsical rock maverick <a href="spotify:artist:0Lpr5wXzWLtDWm1SjNbpPb" data-name="Todd Rundgren">Todd Rundgren</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:2zBENk8LtANz3cNlE9suSb" data-name="Serena-Maneesh">Serena-Maneesh</a>'s <a href="spotify:artist:4L7iJjxGuKKoOECoJ5yPxT" data-name="Emil Nikolaisen">Emil Nikolaisen</a>. Lindstrøm returned to dancefloor-oriented tracks with 2016's Windings EP, which was led by the single "Closing Shot." The producer's fifth solo album, It's Alright Between Us as It Is, arrived in 2017, and featured collaborations with vocalists <a href="spotify:artist:5eerVxtb9lY9p6D7m89Bs7" data-name="Jenny Hval">Jenny Hval</a>, Grace Hall, and <a href="spotify:artist:5vuIOnOp6NI06rjLgTpYiY" data-name="Frida Sundemo">Frida Sundemo</a>. ~ Ketil Mosnes, Rovi

Ost & Kjex (Petter Haavik & Tore Gjedrem) are a comic strip brought to life in 4D. Fuelled by a Dadaistic approach to music, art and life, they’ve drawn an international audience to their work with records on Crosstown Rebels and Solomun’s Diynamic. Petter and Tore bonded over a love of skating. Spurred on by the sounds of Black Metal, Hardcore and Punk, their rebellion found a voice through music. They created a band called Beyond Dawn which evolved over the course of a decade from skate punk to art rock. Opting for the red pill they became full blow ravers by Y2K, discarding their black garb for a hi-vis color palette and a fully electronic sound. The duo stepped away from the anti-establishment sounds of the early nineties to assume the anti-establishment sounds of the new millennium. A diverse set of influences remained central to their work with everything from Delta Blues and Soul to Noise and experimental electronica informing Ost & Kjex. On stage, Ost and Kjex continue to travel the world as a live act with stamps from Panorama Bar, Fabric, ADE, Sonar, Rex, and tons of other famous clubs and festivals smudged through their passports. Whether they’re playing with a full gospel choir or a minimal club set, Ost & Kjex bring an indelible energy to the stage as they channel the sounds of their vast discography into jubilant live shows. Ost & Kjex’s music is now reserved for their own outlet, Snick Snack, a label they started with life-long friends Trulz & Robin.

BIO
Prins Thomas is a Norwegian electronic dance music producer and DJ whose style is a mélange of disco, house, minimal techno, electro, Krautrock, jazz fusion, space rock, and more. First appearing during the mid-2000s, both as a solo artist and in collaboration with <a href="spotify:artist:2vTtjIqZ7hW0W15t1ApKTB">Lindstrøm</a>, Thomas was one of several producers credited with establishing a 21st century version of space disco, largely lacking the kitschier elements of its 1970s and '80s forebears. The prolific artist's myriad releases, including several numerically titled full-lengths and dozens of 12" singles, often include lengthy dancefloor jams consisting of warm, sequencer-driven patterns and live instruments such as guitars and hand drums. However, he's also branched off into more ambient material, such as his ambitious 2016 set Principe del Norte, as well as more experimental, downtempo collaborations with <a href="spotify:artist:4mD9kXHOs76Ld1m2Vfyi68">Bjørn Torske</a> (Square One, 2017) and <a href="spotify:artist:4p35pLn1lRgqoVVsnqNZEK">Bugge Wesseltoft</a> (self-titled, 2018). Additionally, his vastly eclectic DJ sensibilities are reflected by mixes such as Paradise Goulash (2015) and Smalltown Supersound 25: The Movement of Free Spirit (2018). In 2020, he explored early trance influences on the solo full-length Træns, then reunited with <a href="spotify:artist:2vTtjIqZ7hW0W15t1ApKTB">Lindstrøm</a> for the pair's third full-length. Two melodic, atmospheric disco albums, 8 and 9, appeared in the first quarter of 2022. Born Thomas Moen Hermansen and based in Oslo, he initially made a name for himself as Prins Thomas in the mid-2000s in collaboration with <a href="spotify:artist:0eoL9yfbhhpevgDpEUIKon">Hans-Peter Lindstrøm</a> (more commonly known as just <a href="spotify:artist:2vTtjIqZ7hW0W15t1ApKTB">Lindstrøm</a>). The two Norwegian producers first teamed up for the Further into the Future EP (2004) on <a href="spotify:artist:2vTtjIqZ7hW0W15t1ApKTB">Lindstrøm</a>'s <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Feedelity%22">Feedelity</a> label before releasing the trendsetting full-length album Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas (2005) on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Eskimo+Recordings%22">Eskimo Recordings</a>. Thomas also released an eponymous full-length album in 2005 under the Major Swellings moniker on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Noid+Recordings%22">Noid Recordings</a> and founded a label of his own, <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Full+Pupp%22">Full Pupp</a>. In addition to releasing the work of similarly styled space disco producers on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Full+Pupp%22">Full Pupp</a>, most notably <a href="spotify:artist:49gaZqfow2v8EEQmjGyEIw">Todd Terje</a>, he issued EPs of his own such as Goettsching (2005) and Fehrara (2006). Meanwhile, Thomas quickly became an in-demand remixer (for instance, the <a href="spotify:artist:7M9FwnKOKR4zl9iYCfy3bv">Justus Köhncke</a> vs. Prins Thomas EP on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Kompakt%22">Kompakt</a>, Elan [2007]) and DJ (the double-disc Cosmo Galactic Prism mix album [2007] on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Eskimo+Recordings%22">Eskimo Recordings</a>). As his profile rose in stature -- along with that of the entire space disco movement, whose popularity extended well beyond the electronic dance music community -- Thomas joined the globe-trotting DJ circuit and revived his celebrated partnership with <a href="spotify:artist:2vTtjIqZ7hW0W15t1ApKTB">Lindstrøm</a> for a remix album, Reinterpretations (2007), and follow-up full-length effort, Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas II (2009). He continued to release a succession of EPs and the double-disc label sampler Full Pupp Presents the Greatest Tits, Vol. 1 (2008). After countless collaborations, EP releases, and involvement in remixes and other projects, Thomas focused on releasing his own albums, beginning with a self-titled record in 2010, Prins Thomas II in 2012, and III in 2014, all released on his own <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Full+Pupp%22">Full Pupp</a> label. He celebrated the first decade of <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Full+Pupp%22">Full Pupp</a> with the double-CD mix compilation 10 Years of Full Pupp (2004-2014), and another mixed CD, Rainbow Disco Club, Vol. 1, arrived on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Endless+Flight%22">Endless Flight</a> before the end of 2014. In 2015, Thomas released an ambitious three-CD mix titled Paradise Goulash, which featured a much more eclectic track list than his usual disco-centric mixes, ranging from <a href="spotify:artist:38CPjAAqYV8lTYi6clzbjG">Gabor Szabo</a> to <a href="spotify:artist:7EjJWbZz0wsaAAt5zN0DOL">Wally Badarou</a> to <a href="spotify:artist:5gspAQIAH8nJUrMYgXjCJ2">Kurt Vile</a>. In early 2016, he issued Toransu, a double EP of neo-disco tracks, followed by Principe del Norte (<a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Smalltown+Supersound%22">Smalltown Supersound</a>), a double album of lengthy, often beatless pieces that explored his ambient, minimalist, and kosmische influences. Principe del Norte Remixed followed, featuring contributions from <a href="spotify:artist:5HAtRoEPUvGSA7ziTGB1cF">the Orb</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:0s2YIpNnjdf0FY4tNrF8Y4">Ricardo Villalobos</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6zh25V1pQ8IQpxDYVmFSrT">Hieroglyphic Being</a>, and others. The following year saw the release of Square One, a full-length collaboration with <a href="spotify:artist:4mD9kXHOs76Ld1m2Vfyi68">Bjørn Torske</a>, as well as Häxan (Versions by Prins Thomas), a remix album of Häxan by Swedish psych band <a href="spotify:artist:5d7hcYqz8bVY6Kt3bhjd3d">Dungen</a>. Finally, near the end of 2017, Thomas released 5 on his own <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Prins+Thomas+Musikk%22">Prins Thomas Musikk</a> imprint. Near the end of 2018, he celebrated the eclectic history of <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Smalltown+Supersound%22">Smalltown Supersound</a> with the triple-CD mix Smalltown Supersound 25 and collaborated with jazz pianist <a href="spotify:artist:4p35pLn1lRgqoVVsnqNZEK">Bugge Wesseltoft</a> on an eponymous outing. Thomas' sixth solo album, Ambitions, followed in 2019. Træns, an homage to trance's formative era of the early '90s, was released by <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Running+Back%22">Running Back</a> in 2020. Later in the year, <a href="spotify:artist:2U3dcuDVpg1sZiN8ZW5JWR">Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas</a> reunited and released their hazy, easygoing third album. Thomas' 8 and 9 were released one after the other in the early months of 2022, with guests including <a href="spotify:artist:4p35pLn1lRgqoVVsnqNZEK">Wesseltoft</a> and <a href="spotify:artist:7FQiZr787umw7P5dO3zqld">John Carroll Kirby</a>. ~ Jason Birchmeier & Paul Simpson, Rovi

Hey what's up, this is my bio. My management told me I had to make one, so I’m going to list a couple of things I’ve done :-) I’m 23 years old from Oslo (Norway), toured with Tiesto & Alan Walker, produced for A$AP Rocky, own club tracks being played by DJs like Martin Garrix, Zedd & Avicii. Remixed artists like Katy Perry & Zedd (who performed my remix live at Coachella), Rita Ora, Tiesto and more. Also post weekly vids on YouTube, and I give away samples from all my songs that have been downloaded 100k + times by producers. Got lots of cool stuff coming, I just released a collab with Brooks that I’m excited about! I don’t sleep a lot and I'm usually very happy :-) But I'll shut up now... If u read all this slide in my DMs on Instagram and let me know, I’m curious how many people actually read this

BIO
Originally a heavy metal drummer, Bård Aasen Lødemel, aka Skatebård, got into techno and rave during the '90s before he became a producer of retro-futuristic disco, house, and techno. Hailing from a small town called Ørsta on the Norwegian west coast, Lødemel moved to Bergen in the year 2000, where he quickly became part of the town's growing club scene. After handing over a homemade demo to <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Tell%C3%A9+Records%22">Tellé Records</a> label boss Mikal Telle, Lødemel was signed to <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Tell%C3%A9%22">Tellé</a> offshoot label <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Tellektro%22">Tellektro</a> in 2001. His first release under the name of Skatebård, a concise vinyl-only album called Skateboarding Was a Crime (In 1989), was released in 2002, and slowly but surely Skatebård's reputation started spreading beyond Norway's borders. Shortly thereafter, Lødemel suddenly became a hip-hop cult figure in his home country, as the sidekick MC in <a href="spotify:artist:3bjvR3zLyZdcueDuJh45RQ">Side Brok</a> -- an ensemble that, during 2004, was one of Norway's best-selling hip-hop acts. Despite his sudden hip-hop stardom, Lødemel never left his dance roots, and continued to release 12"s on different international labels such as <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Keys+of+Life%22">Keys of Life</a>. Although he was busy with productions, remixes, and DJ'ing, as well as duties with <a href="spotify:artist:3bjvR3zLyZdcueDuJh45RQ">Side Brok</a>, Lødemel still found time to start his own label, <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Digitalo+Enterprises%22">Digitalo Enterprises</a>, which landed a deal with the distribution wing of Cologne, Germany's <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Kompakt%22">Kompakt</a>. Midnight Magic, released in 2006, had a strong Italo disco feel to it and received great reviews both in the Norwegian and international music press. Cosmos (2008) and the digital download-only Vill Stil (2011), also released on <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Digitalo%22">Digitalo</a>, veered from raw, jacking house to sleek Euro-disco. CDIII (2015), the third Skatebård album released on compact disc, was his most diverse and refined release, as it drew from <a href="spotify:artist:6jU2Tt13MmXYk0ZBv1KmfO">Moroder</a>-style disco, Krautrock, and several post-disco styles, including Italo-disco and early Chicago house. ~ Ketil Mosnes & Andy Kellman, Rovi

BIO
For nearly two decades now Norway has been synonymous with disco music, artists such as Lindstrøm, Prins Thomas and Todd Terje redefining the genre. Now, following in their footsteps, a new generation are breaking through and Even Hymer Gillebo, aka Cavego, has firmly established himself as one of the most exciting. After signing to renowned Belgian label Eskimo Recordings, home to two seminal albums by Lindstrøm & Prins Thomas, making remixes for well-known artists such as Satin Jackets, Astrid S and Blende, and solidifying his reputation with his debut EP, the sparkling and playful ‘Gudbrandsdalen’, Cavego now sets his mark on 2020 with the release of his new EP 'Dovregubben'. Featuring 4 tracks of shimmering, uplifting electronic music that can be enjoyed both at home and on the dancefloor, 'Dovregubben' revels in its playful sounds and shows exactly why the young Norwegian has already been tipped by the likes of BBC Radio 1, DJ Mag and Clash. Where his critically acclaimed debut EP, 'Gudbrandsdalen', was inspired by the beautiful Norwegian landscape that he grew up in, 'Dovregubben' takes its cues from the region's culture with the EP's title itself a reference from Henrik Ibsen's famous work 'Peer Gynt'. The perfect soundtrack to both sweaty parties in urban clubs and long treks across a fairytale like wilderness, Cavego's music reassures us that the future of Norwegian disco is in safe hands for years to come.
