BIO
German house music producer Robin Schulz became an overnight sensation when he scored an international smash hit with his very first commercial release, a lush remix of "Waves" by Dutch rapper Mr. Probz. It hit number one in six European countries and number three in six more, and his follow-up, a club-ready remix of French indie pop duo Lilly Wood & the Prick's "Prayer in C," was even more successful, going to number one in ten European countries. It wasn't as though Schulz hadn't paid his dues, however. Born on April 28, 1987, in Osnabrück, he began DJing at the tender age of 17, influenced by the likes of Richie Hawtin, Sven Väth, Armand Van Helden, and Tiësto. By 20, he had his own club night, which he ran for two years before the yen to make his own music led him into production. Schulz experimented for several years before uploading his tracks to YouTube, where his melodic, bouncy pop-house sound earned him millions of views. After the success of his first two singles, his third, "Willst Du" (Do You Want To), a remix of a satirical track by German rapper Alligatoah, was released in September 2014, and his debut album, Prayer, followed later that month. Having made his name with remixes, Schulz was not about to mess with the formula, and the album consisted almost entirely of his remixes of other artists' songs, with only a few original productions. Later that year, his remix of "Waves" by Mr. Probz became a massive dancefloor hit, followed by the even greater success of his remix of Lilly Wood & the Prick's "Prayer in C." Schulz released the single "Headlights" in 2015, along with the sophomore album Sugar. His "Shed a Light" single -- a collaboration with David Guetta and Cheat Codes -- was issued in 2016. The song spawned a pair of remix EPs and nearly 200 million streams. The track also appeared the following year on Schulz's full-length Uncovered, which also included the single "OK" featuring James Blunt. A second single, "Oh Child" with Piso 21, arrived in 2018. He scored another hit that year with "Speechless" featuring Erika Sirola before returning with the 2019 single "All This Love," which featured Harlœ. More non-album singles followed, including 2019's "Rather Be Alone" with Nick Martin and Sam Martin, and 2020's "In Your Eyes" featuring Alida and "Alane" with Wes. Towards the end of the year, Schulz issued the first track -- the KIDDO-featuring "All We Got" -- from his fourth album, IIII, which was released at the beginning of 2021. ~ John D. Buchanan, Rovi

Topic started his career as a producer of numerous artists and then released "Light It Up", which kicked things off at the latter end of 2014. The track charted almost instantly. His debut album "Miles" entered the German as well as the Austrian charts. His sophomore single "Home (feat. Nico Santos)" easily claimed platinum status in Germany and double platinum in Australia. Followed up by further huge EDM tracks such as "Perfect" - a collaboration with Ally Brooke, globally recognized as an essential part of the multi award-winning pop act Fifth Harmony. Topic & Nico Santos brought the successful union back to life in 2020 with the single Like I Love You. With his single Breaking Me he set completely new standards in the genre, which he describes as "melancholic dance music". It became one of the most successful singles of 2020, amassing more than one billion combined global streams. The song hit No. 1 on the Mediabase U.S. dance radio tally, iTunes and the Global Top 200 Shazam chart, earning certifications in 28 countries around the world. For Why Do You Lie To Me (feat. Lil Baby), released in August 2020, Topic teamed up with A7S again and enlisted GRAMMY®-nominated U.S. rapper Lil Baby. “Your Love (9PM)" is a completely fresh remake by Topic, ATB & A7S of the original “9PM (Till I Come)”. This reimagined version features A7S’ soaring vocals and a powerful bassline alongside the distinctive guitar hook and trance energy that made the original a worldwide hit.

When reviewing Adam Port’s musical merits at this point in time, it shows that most of it took shape off the beaten path. Be it the conditions that sparked his DJ-career. Be it his approach of DJing itself or be it his artistic progression, manifested in his productions. Over the last years, Adam landed a string of much noticed releases on different labels, be it on Keinemusik, his Berlin-based label-mainstay and collective of fellow artists &ME, Rampa, Reznik and designer Monja Gentschow. Or be it on imprints like Freerange, Pets, Cocoon, Moon Harbour etc. It’s been tunes that immediately brought worldwide attention to his name. But then, instead of doing the obvious, getting a management, meeting demands, playing those big stages, delivering the hits, Adam once again did what felt best for him. Maintaining artistic integrity, releasing records that reflect where his love for music is at in one moment, not knowing where it might be on the very next release, and keeping DJ-sets not only interesting for a crowd, but also himself. Granted: What Adam Port is laying his hands on might have its place within the parameters of House and Techno, but it’s always more than that. It’s his style.

„No music – no life“ The love of music has always been the driving force behind everything GAMPER & DADONI do. One a student of music and the other audio engineering, the two artists from Hamburg (Germany) started as a Producer team in spring 2013 and were generating over 500 million streams on their music. Their sound is a thrilling mixture of melodic and funky house that has rapidly gained the support of world renowned DJs such as Kygo, Lost Frequencies, Robin Schulz, Sam Feldt, Klingande and Bakermat - all of whom regularly play their tracks. GAMPER & DADONI have played over 150 shows in more than 15 countries and whether it's Paris, London, Dublin or Rio the duo always leave their mark. In 2017, they decided to follow their passion to produce more music in the studio and expand their own label's structures. „We had a great time touring the world, but our love for music production suffered. Moreover, we don't want to live a typical „DJ Life“, it has to be something in between. Balance is everything“ Asking about artists that inspire the two, answers reach from Jamiroquai to Mark Ronson, from Bob Dylan to Coldplay and from Van Morrison to Tracy Chapman. „Basically we are doing pop music, but we love to break the rules sometimes and discover new horizons“ Prepare yourself for a musical journey that will captivate your senses and let you lose yourself to dance!

It is part of our DNA. The clubs, the different styles, the people - all of that inspires us. But at the same time, it is also simply the place where we are at home and can develop freely. Everything that people in the world think of Berlin, about the whole scene, that's the way it is. But for us it's just the place we call home.” Now, they return with their new single ‘Feel It 2’, tapping into the trademark sound that twocolors have made their own in recent years, ‘Feel It 2’ is a romance-infused dance jam propelled by soaring vocals and infectious hooks. One thing is for certain: twocolors are here to stay. And they are just beginning to show what they are truly made of.

From 2009 on, Rampa made a name of himself through Keinemusik, his own little d.i.y.-cosmos, being not only label, but also crew of likeminded DJs, producers and friends. The teamwork within this realm has seen a serious number of productions and collaborations, particularly with fellow producer &ME, not to forget the rest of the bunch, Adam Port, Reznik and Monja. Besides, he’s got an array of other collaborations and releases under his belt, put out on imprints like Circoloco, Innervisions, Diynamic, Afterlife, Cocoon, Ninja Tunes / Counter Records, Strictly Rhythm, Kompakt, 2020 Vision, Freerange, BPitch Control, Defected or Crosstown Rebels. The events of the last few years have seen Rampa focussing more and more on the production side of things, be it studio time or the inauguration of the TEILE project – his own company to produce and distribute analogue effects, custom built for DJ-purposes. Certainly also an outlet for a slight nerdism, that includes not only studio gear, but instruments in general. When it comes to DJing itself, he is going for a less is more approach these days, choosing bookings and playing more consciously.

When one could assume, &ME entered the House and Techno world somewhat out of the blue, it is due to his sublime modesty that’s already captured in his alias. His way to become one of today’s most praised and sought after DJ/producers is based on a solid foundation. A foundation comprised of solo-releases, remixes, projects and collaborations that numerous, we’d rather refer to his discography than weary you with namedropping. Besides, all those references would just distract from what truly matters – the music this guy is delivering. Not to underestimate the importance of a project such as Terranova for &ME’s current path, but still the alignment has been made – to focus consistently on his solo-work. And it shows. There are not many artists around turning in such a slew of globally praised floormaterial like &ME did over the last years. Just think of his last offerings on Keinemusik, a collective of Berlin based DJs and producers, including Rampa, Adam Port, Reznik & artist Monja Gentschow, he helped founding in 2009, namely “After Dark” and “Woods” or his “Vermillion”-remix for Damian Lazarus – all serious bangers, played by every renowned DJ worldwide. Everything is falling into place for the fella. His DIY-approach to handle things, his easy going attitude, his reputation as a gifted producer and DJ extraordinaire, his ability to link innovative production with consensual reception, making him one of the most unique and original figures in the game.

Hey Friends, our new track "Love Makes You Shine" is out now. Enjoy ! YouNotUs – the Berlin duo stood out with its name even before they had their first hit. But that wasn't long in coming either: just a few months after they founded their project, Tobias and Gregor – who met while studying in Berlin – achieved their first platinum success in 2015 with "Supergirl" together with Alle Farben. It was the kick-off for a remarkable career that has made YouNotUs one of the most relevant German dance acts in recent years. And that's both commercially and artistically. Because "Please Tell Rosie", "Only Thing We Know", "Seventeen", "Narcotic" or "Your Favourite Song" – to name just a few songs from the past years – not only have hundreds of millions of streams between them, top 3 placements in the official German singles and/or airplay charts and gold and platinum awards around the clock; they also accomplish the feat of clearly bearing the signature of YouNotUs – fresh, innovative productions with the depth and atmosphere of deep house, the catchiness of a pop song and the underground appeal of a throbbing club night – and yet they never sound interchangeable. Tobias and Gregor know: without the crowd in front of the stage, the party would never get started. And without the people who listen to their songs, the music would not be successful. "It's all about YOU, not us". In short: YouNotUs. They haven't forgotten why they gave themselves this name way back in the day.

The moment that Nicolas Janco aka Parra for Cuva starts playing his melody-laden electronic tracks, it is as if a murmur went through the crowd: Eyes closed, people fall into movements in rhythm with his indistinguishable melodies. Interrupted through occasional sounds of cheering and clapping, everything seamlessly blends into a tapestry of sound and people and one hopes for this wonderful musical experience never to take an end. Indulging in his relentless fascination for sound and harmony, Nicolas commenced his quest for music at a very young age. Starting with classical piano and taking stops in Jazz, Pop and Indie music, the young artist soon developed a strong passion for electronic music that made him leave the countryside and move to big and creative Berlin. Using musical instruments, synthesizers and digital music editing, the audio designer masters the art of creating intelligent, intertwined music pieces from melodies, soft beats and sounds that he records in daily life.

With over 52 weeks inside the German Top 50 radio charts HSKT now ranks as one of the top Radio Songs in the early 20s. Their current lean towards a more credible house sound brings forth Love So Sweet widely featured in the DJ scene as well as in flagship house genre playlists like „Housewerk“. "Eyes On You" alongside DJ superstar Hugel released by the iconic Defected Records' imprint D4D4NCE is taking the world by storm. Starting out with a #1 spot on Friday Cratediggerz it is now within the top 10 of Spotify's Dance Rising playlist. What defines the ItaloBrothers music? Depending on who you’re asking, responses will vary considerably. Obviously their global success with Stamp on the Ground - Radio Edit in 2009 is still ringing in the ears of club-goers as a “Made in Germany” mega dance hit. But observant contemporaries have long been aware that the follow-up hits of the three creative masterminds from northern Germany became too powerful to be pinned down by a mere dance/club/hands-up genre definition. How else could you explain the ItaloBrothers playing gigs on both sides of the pond, from Chicago to Olso, for up to 60,000 ecstatic people who wouldn’t have otherwise found their way into a club?</div><div>Their success story continued in 2013 with This Is Nightlife - Video Edit In 2015 producer Hanno Lohse, a.k.a. Cody Island, joined the team and immediately made contributions to the song “Springfield,” a track created in collaboration with DJ and producer Martin Tungevaag. The followup, Summer Air was heavily inspired by tropical house and future bass. The piece impressively underlined the orientation towards a dance-based song format, which clearly pointed more towards pop than club music. The success of the re-release of that single in 2017 rewarded their ceaseless drive for grand slams: Top 5 in Scandinavia, Top 10 in the German-speaking countries, earned multiple platinum honors in Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, went gold in Germany, and was played 150 million times on Spotify.

In a now long forgotten world, many generations ago, a bird like shape emerged from wooded darkness, floating and fluttering, drifting and dreaming. Backlit by a bright glow of iridescent light, the undecipherable form wore a dazzling golden mask. Its long beak swooped down like an inverted horn and since then, people have referred to the mythical being simply as Claptone. Years spending wandering medieval landscapes have informed Claptone’s view of the world, experiencing both magical mystery and muted melancholy he enchanted onlookers with occult instruments and beguiling sounds. Forever surrounded by a sense of intrigue, the world soon cottoned on to the elusive yet enchanting musical powers of this otherworldly beast. The results are that, today, his shamanistic sonic powers take him all around the world... Claptone's new album Fantast is out now!

His single “My Head Is A Jungle” feat. Emma-Louise, made it to the Top 20 across Europe, peaking at #5 in the UK charts with Mark Kinchen’s (MK) remix in summer 2014. The same year he remixed Lenny Kravitz, Hozier, Flight Facilities and Gossip. During the last 3 years he has collaborated with various vocalists and producers like Björn Dixgard (singer of Mando Diao), Charlotte OC, Svea, Jack Wins or Lucas Estrada. His radio show can be heard on Germany’s biggest radio station WDR 1Live for almost four years now and of course he never forgets his club music roots with releases on Defected or Mother/Superfett. In early 2020 his own imprint label WKLMT was launched with the releases of club smasher “Ayahuasca” and „Roll It“ which got lots of credible positive feedback. 2020 was filled with great productions and collaborations on labels like Universal / Virgin, Spinnin’ Deep and Toolroom. There was „Give & Take“ featuring the very promising Swedish singer Svea in March 2020 which was played a lot on Swedish and German radio and scored millions of streams so far. Summer anthem “Only You feat. Paper Idol” (Spinnin Deep) or „Free At Last“ (Toolroom) with remixes by Martin Ikin and Mousse T. 2021 was opened by a collaboration between Lucas Estrada and nobody cares. „Oh Love“ (Spinnin Records) is only a taste of what Wankelmut will deliver in 2021.

Backstory Jan's early live concert performances in the 90’s were a fusion of punk, hardcore, britpop and rock and roll. But his music was growing with the times as he was inspired by the increasing and diverse use and experimentation of electronic instruments and noise in the then-modern radio and club music. Still a teenager then he broke up the band and moved to Berlin where he immersed himself in the electro movement, studying every artist, dj, and character he encountered. Jan folded in with inspiring crews like those at the Bar25 who not only exposed him to their forward thinking politic, but were inspired by Jan’s passion and unique worldview and signed him to their booking agency. He reformed his old band and began perfecting a machine-like super tight sound that would bring a rock and roll stage presence to the clubs and resulted in an amazing live show. Key gigs at the Fusion Festival, viral music videos, a very big jet plane cover and a debut EP on Stil vor Talent launched him directly into the center of the game to reinvent deep house music. The following cornerstone performances at Burning Man in 2016 and the legendary Zero Parties (from 2013-2018) in New York catapulted his sound into the North American scene and set a clean and mature example of the second wave of the electronic music movement, as you can hear on his spectacular debut album Remote Control from 2016 and his newest œuvre Disconnected.

In a time where the big drops of EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and cake-throwing DJs seem to reign supreme, Paul Kalkbrenner is keeping his cool. He trusts on his remarkable talent as a producer and live act—no added artificial flashiness needed. He can rave with the best of them, and raise his arms to full dancefloor delirium, but his head will never spin right off.

For Solomun, music isn’t just a tool to make people dance. Music is as diverse as life itself: many different shades, moments, and memories to be made. Music triggers emotions and vice versa, and this sort of interrelation - with Solomun representing the music and the audience emotions - is what casts the spell around his performances. His “Solomun +1” residency at Pacha Ibiza started in quite a laid-back fashion – with him doing his own thing, moving the DJ booth into the centre of the club to be close to the people on the dancefloor instead of the usual high podium, and introducing a fairly unheard-of concept on the Island: a night together with only one friend. Since its commencement in 2013, “Solomun +1” has long become an Ibiza household name, with its “Solomun +LIVE” offshoot on the Island and +1 editions all over the world, be it Berlin, New York or Tulum. The same energy was what kicked off his music label Diynamic in 2006: A band of brothers with similar ideas, taste in music, and the volition to support each other. And, looking back, Diynamic turned out to be the stepping stone for many artists’ careers. All of this started somewhere small, but by being himself, an honest entertainer in the truest sense of the word, not a stage persona. He proved that the music is more important than the place it’s played at, because his sets, remixes and productions are bringing people together. And always, he is sending the same message: “Nobody is not loved.

The effervescent club music of producer Mousse T (Mustafa Gündogdu) blends disco and house along with taste and camp into a sparkling mix that has spawned such hits as "Horny" and "Sex Bomb." Born in Hagen, Germany of Turkish decent, Mustafa moved to Hanover in 1990 to join the band Fun Key B on keyboards, build his own studio, and moonlight as a DJ. In 1993 he formed the label/production house Peppermint Jam with partner Errol Rennalls. He spent the next few years releasing his own rousing house music and some cool acid jazz on Peppermint Jam 12"s while producing and remixing the likes of Michael Jackson, Simply Red, Amber, Ziggy Marley, Boney M, and Randy Crawford. In 1998 he had his breakthrough hit when "Horny," featuring vocals by the female duo Hot 'N' Juicy, dominated clubs worldwide. While his remix of Moloko's "Sing It Back" was storming up the charts that same year, "Horny" was appearing on numerous compilations, from Gay Happening, Vol. 6 to Chef Aid: The South Park Album. A year later he teamed with the legendary Tom Jones for another smash, "Sex Bomb," which would be featured on Jones' album Reload. Both "Horny" and "Sex Bomb" would appear in drastically different versions on his jazzy and lounge-flavored album Gourmet de Funk released in 2002. His 2004 full-length All Nite Madness was introduced by another club hit, "Is It 'Cos I'm Cool?" Two years later "Horny" would invade the dancefloor once again but this time cheeky producers Loo & Placido mashed it together with the Dandy Warhols' single "Bohemian Like You." Titled "Horny as a Dandy," the cut was another dance compilation favorite. ~ David Jeffries, Rovi

R.I.O. made its debut in 2007 and quickly became a successful Euro-dance recording act; "Shine On" (2008) reached number eight on the French pop chart and number ten in Sweden, while "Turn This Club Around" peaked within the Top Five in Germany and Austria and topped the Swiss music chart. Boris Brejcha. "The man with the mask“, "King of high-tech minimal"; Boris has many names; but one thing is certain: He's been celebrated as a superstar in South America for years and the hype about him in Europe has also grown out of proportion. His name adorns all the line-ups at the most internationally renowned festivals and his club performances are often sold out within minutes. Since 2016, he has been doing his own "Boris Brejcha in Concert" shows, filling the really big venues (with up to 15,000 guests) without any problems. After many releases, two own bus tours through Europe with his label and a change to the well known label "Ultra Music", Boris continues to enthuse the masses in 2020. Boris plays exclusively his own produced music and his music style is unique and unmistakable. His sets leave nothing to be desired; a mixture of powerful techno elements, rousing melodies and trancy sounds. If you have any chance to see Boris this year, you should hurry up. The tickets will be sold out quickly. We are looking forward to see you!

Described by one critic as a "minimal techno supergroup," Moderat consists of Sascha Ring, better known as Apparat, and the duo of Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, better known as Modeselektor, with the three first working together in 2003. The trio released the 12" Auf Kosten der Gesundheit (consisting of four tracks and a series of locked grooves) on Ellen Allien's BPitch Control, but they placed Moderat on a shelf for several years. They put together a stylistically varied and often frantic self-titled album, featuring guest vocals from Paul St. Hilaire and Eased, and released it on BPitch in April 2009. Worldwide tours and festival appearances occurred under the Moderat name for the next four years, but the group didn't return to the studio until 2013 when the album II was released by Mute Records in North America and appeared elsewhere on Monkeytown. The album sold briskly for an electronic release, reaching number ten on the German charts and respectively peaking at 11 and 23 in Switzerland and Austria. Two EPs, Last Time and Bad Kingdom Remixes, landed in 2014 before the group returned to the album format two years later with the aptly titled III. Live, recorded at a sold-out concert that took place in Berlin on June 5, 2016, appeared in November. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi

BIO
One of the most iconic DJs and producers in dance music history, Paul van Dyk has been synonymous with trance since the mid-'90s. With early productions like his 1993 remix of Humate's "Love Stimulation" and the 1994 classic "For an Angel," he blended minor-key melodies with ecstatic beats, helping to establish the progressive trance sound that would become inescapable by the end of the decade. As dance music increased in mainstream popularity throughout the world, and the phenomenon of superclubs emerged, van Dyk became immensely successful, regularly selling out venues around the globe. Around 2000, van Dyk began collaborating with vocalists more frequently, resulting in his biggest pop hits, including the U.K. Top Ten-charting "Tell Me Why (The Riddle)" featuring Saint Etienne. He continued to infiltrate the mainstream through his remixes of pop stars like Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake. He also became more politically active, speaking openly against war and initiating a series of releases titled The Politics of Dancing in 2001. By the mid-2000s, he was regularly receiving high-profile recognition in the form of a Grammy nomination and awards from various dance publications. He remained highly productive throughout the 2010s, releasing albums such as 2012's Evolution and 2017's From Then On, in addition to hosting his weekly VONYC Sessions mix show and remaining an in-demand club and festival DJ. A native of a German town near Frankfurt, van Dyk first heard house music on the radio during the mid-'80s. Soon he was experimenting with a rudimentary turntable setup, and after hitting Berlin, he gigged around the city. By 1991, he had appeared at the legendary Tresor club; he later set up his own E-Werk club, and debuted on record as Visions of Shiva, with fellow trance wizard Cosmic Baby. He remixed for New Order, Humate, Sven Väth, and others, then signed to the German MFS Records for his first album, 1994's 45 RPM, which included the original version of the perennial club favorite "For an Angel." By the midpoint of the '90s, van Dyk had become a globe-trotting DJ and remixer. His second album, Seven Ways, resulted in British and German dance chart entries for the singles "Beautiful Place," "Forbidden Fruit," and "Words" (featuring Toni Halliday of Curve). While both of his albums were issued in America during 1998, van Dyk added two remix collections, Perspective and Vorsprung Dyk Technik, to his discography. The year 2000 saw the release of third full-length Out There and Back, which contained some of his most popular songs, including "We Are Alive" and the Saint Etienne collaboration "Tell Me Why (The Riddle)." As a follow-up to global club dates in support of those releases, van Dyk released the EP Columbia in 2001, in addition to his first mix album, The Politics of Dancing. After a relatively quiet 2002 (on the recording front), van Dyk returned with a mix-album/greatest-hits/DVD (Global), the soundtrack to a film (Zurdo), and a new production album (Reflections, which reached the Top Ten of the German album charts). He released the second volume of his Politics of Dancing mix-album series in 2005 and returned with another guest-heavy, pop-minded studio album, In Between, in 2007. The remix effort Hands on In Between followed a year later, and live DJ gigs, remix work for others, and his own mix albums kept van Dyk from releasing a studio effort for the next four years. He returned in 2012 with the album Evolution, along with the single "Eternity" featuring Owl City frontman Adam Young. A year later he issued the (R)evolution: The Remixes collection, while 2015 brought The Politics of Dancing, Vol. 3, a proper album rather than a mix CD. After issuing the collaborative single "Berlinition" with Chris Bekker and Chris Montana in 2016, van Dyk released the full-length From Then On, which arrived in late 2017. Music Rescues Me appeared one year later, and the single "Shine Ibiza Anthem 2019" was released in conjunction with van Dyk's weekly residency at Ibiza's Eden club. ~ John Bush, Rovi

Alexander Ridha, the individual behind the Boys Noize moniker as well as the label Boysnoize Records, became one of the biggest names of the electro-house scene during the 2000s and 2010s, producing a hard-edged mix of rave, hip-hop, and industrial influences. First establishing his credentials with a bevy of singles and hypercharged remixes for the likes of Bloc Party, Depeche Mode, and Feist, he released his acclaimed full-length debut, Oi Oi Oi, in 2007. Subsequent albums such as Out of the Black (2012) and Mayday (2016) expanded on his sound while featuring guests including Snoop Dogg, Hudson Mohawke, and Poliça, while mix CDs such as FabricLive 72 (2013) demonstrated his skills as a DJ. Apart from solo work, Ridha has collaborated extensively with Skrillex (as Dog Blood), Mr. Oizo (as Handbraekes), Chilly Gonzales (as Octave Minds and producing/co-writing 2010's Ivory Tower), and Erol Alkan, among others. Born in Hamburg, Germany, Ridha moved to Berlin when he was 21 years old. Chiefly inspired by Daft Punk, he established himself as a talented producer in 2004 with the International Deejay Gigolo Records 12" single The Bomb!/Boy Neu. In 2005, Ridha founded Boysnoize Records and released a pair of Boys Noize 12" singles (Optic/He-Man, Volta 82) on the label, which subsequently featured the work of I-Robots, Housemeister, Lady B, Shadow Dancer, and others. Meanwhile, he produced one-off releases for Anthony Rother's Datapunk label (Are You In?, 2005), Tiga's Turbo label (Erole Attakk, 2006), and Kitsuné Music (Feel Good [TV=Off], 2007). Oi Oi Oi (2007) marked the full-length album debut of Ridha as Boys Noize; Last Gang Records licensed the album for release in North America, along with an EP of remixes, Oi Oi Oi Remixed. A popular Boys Noize remix of Feist's "My Moon My Man" was included as a bonus track on Oi Oi Oi. It was one of several remixes -- most notably Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus," Bloc Party's "Banquet," and Justice's "Phantom, Pt. 2" -- that helped popularize the Boys Noize brand. Ridha's first two mix CDs, Bugged Out! Presents Suck My Deck and I Love Techno 2008, both appeared in 2008. Second studio album Power appeared in 2009, and The Remixes 2004-11, an extensive double-CD containing Boys Noize mixes of artists including the Chemical Brothers, N.E.R.D., and Daft Punk, was issued in 2011. Full-length Out of the Black was released in 2012, the same year Ridha and Skrillex formed a side project called Dog Blood and released their debut single, Middle Finger. Ridha was tapped for the 72nd volume of Fabric's long-running Fabriclive DJ mix series in 2013. Out of the Black: The Remixes followed in 2014, with artists like Justice, Chromeo, and Jimmy Edgar reworking that album's tracks. Also in 2014, Ridha and Chilly Gonzales released their self-titled debut as Octave Minds, including a collaboration with Chance the Rapper and the Social Experiment. In 2015, Boys Noize released the back-to-basics techno EP Strictly Raw, Vol. 1, including co-productions with Tiga, Atom™, and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs. In May 2016, he released his fourth studio LP, Mayday, which featured appearances by Benga, Remy Banks, Hudson Mohawke, Spank Rock, and Poliça. As before, he followed his LP with a remixed version, this time divided into two EPs, Mayday Remixes, Pt. 1 & Pt. 2. Strictly Raw, Vol. 2 and single collaborations with Virgil Abloh ("Orange") and Steven A. Clark ("Killer") all appeared in 2018. Following the release of Dog Blood's Turn Off the Lights EP in the spring of 2019, Skrillex and Boys Noize teamed up with Ty Dolla $ign for the single "Midnight Hour," which was later nominated for the Best Dance Recording Grammy Award. "Why Not?," Ridha's collaboration with Francis & the Lights, was released that fall. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi

Born and raised in the largely working-class town of Bottrop, it was here where he first wowed the crowds with his skills behind the turntables. By 1990, he was already being touted as one of the nation's finest men on the decks and, that same year, moved into production. His early works, released under the moniker DJ Hooligan, included the popular club numbers "B.O.T.T.R.O.P." and "It's a Dream Song," and the dance charts winner "Rave Nation." In 1996, he launched his own label, B-sides, and changed his name to Da Hool. That same year, he released the infectious rave single "Meet Her at the Love Parade." However, it was not until a year later, when the tune was re-released on Germany's legendary Kosmo Records label (responsible for such acts as Novy vs Eniac), that it became a chart topper. It sold more than 6,000,000 copies around the globe. Soon after came Da Hool's next offering, another rave single titled "Bora Bora"; named after a beach on the Spanish party island of Ibiza, the track was a popular club tune in many countries and a hit on the German charts. In 1999, he released his first LP, the aptly titled Here Comes Da Hool. ~ David Peter Wesolowski, Rovi

Born in East Berlin 1981 Fritz Kalkbrenner was deeply impressed by the mid 90s Berlin Techno. In 2008 he started to work with his brother Paul on "Sky & Sand" for the legendary movie "Berlin Calling". Afterwards Fritz made his own soulful and deep electronic music. His debut album „Here Today Gone Tomorrow” was released in 2010 on Suol with great feedback. With that response he started playing live and delivered his first Top10 album „Sick Travellin’” in 2012. With him singing on „Get a Life” or „Little by Little” Fritz Kalkbrenner created singles which made their way to radio. It took him two more years for his next Top 10 album „Ways over Water” and his single success „Back Home” which got massive airplay and reached the German Top 20. He came back to Berlin after many liveshows with lots of ideas to do new music which got released in 2016 as „Grand Départ”. Out on Suol the 4th album went again Top 10 and putted him in the top league of electronic music artists. After impressive TV broadcasts Fritz needed a new direction. He headed back to underground House music which resulted in the epic 2018 „Drown” album. This led to the next step for Fritz Kalkbrenner by starting his own label „Nasua Music” early 2019. For this he started producing fresh music with a new crew of talented people. In 2020 he released his 6th studio album „True Colours“.

When it comes to defining the space between classical and electronic music, hardly any other name is mentioned as often as that of the Berlin-based pianist, composer and producer Nils Frahm. His unconventional approach to an age-old instrument, played contemplatively and intimately, and on a mesmerizing scale through his vast stage shows, has won him many fans around the world. Nils’ breakthrough album Felt was released on Erased Tapes in 2011. Two years later, he returned to critical acclaim with his album Spaces, expressing his love for experimentation and answering his fan’s call for a record that truly reflects what they experience during his live shows. Following the release of his album All Melody in 2018, Nils set off for another two-year-long tour, with over 180 sold out performances including NY’s Brooklyn Steel, L.A.’s Disney Hall, and the Sydney Opera House. In December 2020, he released the concert film Tripping with Nils Frahm, trying to freeze a moment of this journey and capture his concerts in picture and sound. The film is produced by the newly launched label and production company LEITER. In celebration of Piano Day, Nils shared Graz in March 2021, while his seven-track album 2X1=4, out on LEITER in September, finds him unexpectedly exploring a dub-influenced universe. Nils’ latest release Old Friends New Friends is a collection of 23 solo piano tracks, almost all hitherto unreleased and, for one reason or another, omitted from previous albums.

The son of a jazz trombone player, Boris Dlugosch established his own legacy as one of Europe's top DJs and producers. In addition to producing the remix hits "Keep Pushin'" in 1996 and "Hold Your Head Up High," the following year, Dlugosch has brought remix success to Moloko, Michael Watford, Edesio, Djaimin, DeMage, and the Jasper Street Co.. Dlugosch continued to DJ every Saturday night at Germany's premier house music club, the Front, where he launched his career in 1986. As the club's booking manager during the '90s, he introduced German audiences to such American artists as Frankie Knuckles, Masters at Work, Roger S., David Morales, DJ Pierre, DJ Disciple, and Deep Dish. While his early work was inspired by American R&B artists including James Brown, Marvin Gaye and the Commodores, and British rock bands, Dlugosch began to incorporate hip-hop and funk influences in the late '80s. Shortly after agreeing to host a Saturday night show for N-Joy Radio in 1994, Dlugosch made his first forays into the recording studio. Working with New York producer Lem Springsteen, he scored hits with remixes of Moloko's "Sing It Back" and Hot 'N' Juicy's "Horny." Although his 1996 release, "Keep On Pushin'," became an international dance hit, "Hold Your Head Up High" did even better a year later. A video of the tune was placed in rotation on MTV and the European music TV station Viva. Dlugosch opened his own recording studio in Hamburg in the summer of 1997. ~ Craig Harris, Rovi

Oliver Koletzki is a producer and DJ in the genres of electronic dance, hip-hop, pop, and house. Studying music at the Humboldt University in Berlin and working as a composer for commercials, Koletzki self-released a white-label pressing of his techno track "Der Mückenschwarm," which was heard by Sven Väth, who signed Koletzki to his Cocoon label and re-released the cut. The song was then selected as the "track of the year" in a reader's poll by German magazine Groove in 2005 and later remixed by artists such as Dominik Eulberg and Pig & Dan. Koletzki founded his own label, Stil vor Talent, in September 2005. His first DJ mix CD, The Process, was released in 2006, followed by his proper debut album, Get Wasted, in 2007. His sophomore album, the Berlin-inspired Großstadtmärchen, was issued in 2009, followed by a pop-leaning collaboration album with singer Fran titled Lovestoned in 2010. Koletzki's third album, Großstadtmärchen 2, was released in 2012 and entered the German charts at number 19. In 2013, Stil vor Talent introduced a compilation series titled Schneeweiß. Named after a popular Berlin restaurant, the albums' tracks were compiled by Koletzki with the eatery's patrons in mind. Koletzki's fourth solo studio album, I Am OK, appeared in 2014, and also hit the German album charts. In 2016, Koletzki celebrated his label's ten-year anniversary with the compilation 10 Years Stil vor Talent. The following year, he returned with his fifth solo release, The Arc of Tension, and also curated another volume of the Schneeweiß series. ~ Christian Genzel, Rovi

German DJ/producer Tensnake – aka Marco Niemerski, has been wreaking beautiful havoc on the world’s dance floors, releasing house and disco bombs. Drawing inspiration from soul, boogie, funk and 80s pop, giving him a very unique and inimitable sound. You can hear this in 2010’s “Coma Cat”, one of the biggest house records of the last decade. He is also the label boss of his own ‘True Romance’ imprint and has DJed all over the world at Coachella, Glastonbury and Tomorrowland. He has released with some of house music’s finest labels, including Running Back, Defected and Permanent Vacation. In 2014, he unleashed his acclaimed debut artist album Glow, including collaborations with Jamie Liddell, MNEK, and Nile Rodgers. He now introduces its long-anticipated follow-up sophomore album L.A. The new album L.A., named after the city that, until recently, he called home, introduces the wider world to a different take on the Tensnake sound, one that has a distinct pop flavor. L.A. shows Tensnake’s breadth of production and inspiration across a sprawling 16-track expanse, where if you close your eyes, you can imagine yourself at the wheel of a Mustang convertible, arcing blue skies above, heading down palm-lined boulevards. Listen out for The Pointer Sisters’ classic, “Automatic,” the euphoric “Somebody Else” the fluid bassline and clipped guitars of “Antibodies” and through to “Adam’s Hill”, this album, says Marco, was about him “…evolving, about getting better”.

Stefan Kozalla aka DJ Koze lives and works in Hamburg and Cadaqués. His Profession: DJ, Musician (International PONY, Adolf Noise) and Remixer for many, including Gorillaz, Moderat, Matthew Dear, Låpsley, Caribou, Who Made Who, Lawrence and many others. DJ Koze exists a little outside of time of time. Not only because his records can take you to places where everything seems to stop, the present moment expanding out to the horizon, but because he manages to function on a timeline completely detached from the usual dreary cycles of hype, influence, club hits, press credibility and career progression that govern so many of the structures of the music world. None of which is to say, though, that he's a wilful “outsider” artist: though Koze's music has been consistently strange and psychedelic, he has absolutely no truck with courting obscurity or alienating people for the sake of it, and he is hugely popular with very good reason.

BIO
Electronic/techno producer Christian Löffler specializes in emotive, melancholic music that feels isolated yet strangely relatable. Löffler started taking an interest in music at age 14, although instead of picking up a guitar, as his friends did, he dove straight into programming and arranging music on his computer. A lot of his sound is owed to the area he was brought up in, and where he spends most of his time: the Darß peninsula in Germany. Inside of his relatively isolated studio, Löffler taught himself to use a variety of programs and instruments, as well as develop his photography skills and collect a huge sound bank of field recordings. For the most part, Löffler created music simply because he enjoyed expressing himself; that all changed in 2008 when a long-time friend approached him with the idea of starting a label. Together they founded Ki Records, launching with Löffler's debut EP, Heights. Löffler would continue to release an EP on his own label on an almost annual basis; a notable exception was made in 2015 when he released the New York EP on U.K.-based label 20:20 Vision. Löffler also released his debut album via Ki Records, 2012's A Forest, which featured Danish singer Gry Bagøien and German singer Mohna, the latter of whom would regularly join Löffler when he played live. His second full-length album, Mare, followed in 2016, and took a more organic approach, featuring more self-recorded instruments and field recordings instead of the sample-based approach he took on his debut.
