Beatport partners with Beatdapp to combat fake streams

A recent study has revealed that about 10% of streams in the music industry are fake, causing significant concern across various platforms. In response, Beatport, the world’s leading electronic music marketplace, has taken action to combat fake streams and ensure a more authentic market.

To address this issue, Beatport has entered into a strategic partnership with Beatdapp, a company specializing in fraud detection technology. This collaboration aims to enhance the accuracy of track rankings, making them fairer and more transparent by reflecting the true performance of music, free from bot interference.

Although the issue of fake streams is less prevalent on Beatport compared to platforms like Spotify, Helen Sartory, Beatport’s Chief Revenue Officer, emphasized that this partnership will benefit the entire music industry. By reducing manipulation, legitimate artists and labels are expected to receive fair compensation, while improving the recommendations and analysis of featured tracks.
