AlphaTheta Releases Documentary on the Evolution of Ibiza’s Club Scene

AlphaTheta, the parent company of Pioneer DJ, has released a new documentary titled The Evolution of Ibiza: Can the White Isle Retain Its Legendary Magic?. This hour-long film explores the transformation of Ibiza’s club scene from a “hippy hangout” in the ’60s to its status as the world’s premier clubbing destination.

Directed by Dan Tait and Laurence Koe, the documentary includes interviews with a variety of Ibiza’s community members, such as club promoters, government officials, locals, and renowned artists like Carl Cox, Norman Cook, Chloé Caillet, and Franky Wah. The film also discusses the island’s future, addressing issues like rising costs, overtourism, and the sustainability of its nightlife.

Recent changes in Ibiza, such as stricter alcohol regulations and local protests against overtourism, are also covered in the documentary. Meanwhile, Amnesia Ibiza has announced a two-day closing party featuring artists like Sammy Virji, Ben Hemsley, and Indira Paganotto. Additionally, AlphaTheta released the latest version of rekordbox software in May.
